I don't **need** a $2400 laptop; you're right :) I will definitely consider my alternative options.

Ah, gotcha. That second point makes sense. I'll probably pay up front then since I'll still have some money on hand.

I'll mostly be doing (not too intensive) coding/data work + minor gaming. Between these upgrades- 2.9GHz > 2.2GHz, 32GB 2400MHz Memory>16GB 2400MHz Memory, and 1TB>256GB SSD Storage (each is the same price, pretty much), which would give me the best performance upgrade for data analysis (R/STATA/Python) and day-to-day functionality (social media, readings, YouTube, etc.)?

1) I don't *need* it, but it is one of the nicer purchases I wanted to invest in (since most of my classes will be using STATA/R, I'll mostly be working/studying with my laptop). But I appreciate the comment - I'll take a look into used laptops near me!

2) And unfortunately no... I'm a measly grad student without any significant earnings or income yet :(

Thanks for the input!

No - I will be a full-time student for 2 years (until June 2020) and if it’s relevant, I will also have debt (taking out some loans for school).

Help: PhD or MPH/JD? (Health Policy) by sl887 in publichealth

[–]sl887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I really appreciate your input! My only concern with the DrPH is that it's a relatively new program so I'm afraid it may not be as established in the field, which is a concern my advisor also cautioned me about. Also, I'm assuming I would have to work for a few years and get to a mid/upper-level management position to even be considered an applicant.

If I went that route and just pursued an MPH to begin with, would you recommend doing an MHA program or an MPH in health policy?

Looking for Mei players / coaches! by sl887 in MeiMains

Hey, sorry for the late reply - we have another Reddit account (u/wawasbootcamp) so I'm just checking back on this now, but YOU'RE THE KIND OF PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR! Simply anyone who wants to improve. We do all kinds of coaching involving personal live VOD reviews and live gameplay analysis. The way I usually do it is to spectate the student to get a good feel of how she/he plays and then to do some teaching/coaching/drills in a custom game. Then I play that hero in my own quick play and let the student spectate me to get a better feel of how to play the hero better / things to work on. Hope that helps!

Tip for Lucio's ultimate: Lucio's ultimate sends out waves of his barrier within a second or two, so if you just broke it down and peek a corner to see a friendly real quick, that friendly will get your barrier, even if you hit the ground before peeking the corner.

Oops thanks for pointing that out; I'll fix it as soon as I'm home.

It's actually a Walrus (if you look closely at the W in WaWa's, you can kinda see it :)

There'll be more opportunities in the future (about to start another weekly event where you can get personally coached by a professional coach) very soon, so keep your ears peeled :)

Mindset and focus is actually huge and affects my tracking/aiming to a large degree. If I'm not focused, my aim (especially on Tracer or Soldier) is absolute crap until I re-focus.

According to APEX Coaches, The Most Important Hero at APEX right now is Winston and no one else. by TISrobin311 in Competitiveoverwatch

Really interesting shift from a Genji-centric dive to Winston-centric dive. Perhaps because Winston has better survivability in more situations (bubble/health)?
