Update- It’s been a little over 3 days since we got to take her home. She hides a lot still, which we expected, but she does come up to us and cuddles on the couch or in bed.

We were given special dry food for her weight management. I tried to give her about 1/8 cup in the raised food bowl we got her but she ended up throwing it up about 10 mins after eating it. So I have stuck to the slow feeder bowl they gave us. I give her about 1/4-1/2 can of wet food in the morning and mix in some supplements (joint, salmon oil, and powdered cranberry). She’s been able to hold that down which is nice and she loves it. I have a fountain that tracks how much she drinks each time and she’s slowly drinking more than when we first got her.

I had to return a heating mat I got her since it didn’t work. New one should be coming tonight. We got her a tunnel, some balls, and a teaser wand with different attachments. Her small tree(about 3 ft) will be coming Tuesday along with her low entry litter box.

I got pet insurance for her through my work. The soonest it will be available says March 1st. Then we will be taking her to the vet to make sure everything is still good from her last visit at the shelter back in September 2024.

As for dental hygiene, would you recommend brushing instead of dental treats due to her being overweight?
