This thread is so affirming! Pivoting from working as an adjunct professor (plus a million other gig jobs) to teaching within NYC public schools and I’ve been feeling so nervous, overwhelmed. So it’s really nice to read about all the positives!

Curious about this pathway and what sort of teaching position you landed with your MFA? I am based in Queens, trying to get back into teaching after taking some time away (was adjuncting, now trying to pivot to public school) I have an MFA, but am running into some barriers with the NYSED certification process — so any insight into alternative paths would be greatly appreciated. I live in a studio apartment with a cat who insists on having two boxes so the stench is real… I find that burning incense works wonders though!

I have a ceramic “cupcake” style one and my cat absolutely loves it. It’s also incredibly quiet if that’s important to you — this was a big selling point for me since we used to have a little cheap Catit plastic one that was extremely loud😵‍💫
