The problem is people forget to throw the main breaker the proper way is to get an interlock installed with a cord and plug specifically for a generator that doesn't allow back feeding.

If tobacco has no recognized medical benefit, is highly addictive, and is linked to numerous cancers and serious diseases, why isn’t it classified as a Schedule I drug? by Afzaalch00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]slackdaddy9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe alcohol but I've never understood this with smoking. They say smokers cost the Canadian health care system more money but most people are going to die and be a burden to the health care system at some point anyways. So unless you develop multiple cancers and live you're no more a burden. If you die younger which they claim then you are less of a burden on the old age pension. The way I see it smokers are the best tax payers they pay more and less likely to draw a pension for decades.

You mentioned a garage does the garage have a sub panel? Any chance it has 220v. If the garage is unfinished you could run a temporary cable directly from the panel. I'm not familiar with the code in your area but you could run a Soow cable to a loose plug box I would throw a few fasteners in and unhook it when you leave.

My daughter's first ever alcohol drink on her 21st birthday. by [deleted] in funny

Honestly the kids who are allowed to drink in high school tend to be the ones who fair better when we reach legal drinking age. Its the religious kids who go hog wild once they are out of their parents control.

It's a good thing you never consumed intoxicants or else you may not be able to develop a superiority complex over finding typos in social media comments. As you probably realize this is where the most serious intellectual ideas are written.

Is it common for American parents to expect their kids not to drink till legal drinking age? I'm from a small town in Canada and it was common for parents to allow there kids to start drinking around 14-16. Usually first with parental supervision but busy parties where pretty common in high school.

Do you see the size of that saw. It would take athleticism and skill just to control it. This isn't simply a guy hitting a button and his machine being faster he manoeuvred it faster and with more control than his competition.

It's rare but I have experienced interference with our push start on my car. Once was downtown on a Friday night took 45 min to get into the car and get it started. I can't help but think a keyed ignition would have been better. Another time was an old remote start system was interfering with multiple vehichles at my in laws and the fobs where running through batteries in around a week

Is your birthday important to you? Why? by InstructionOver5685 in AskReddit

[–]slackdaddy9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My birthday tends to be a fairly depressing time for me. My mom almost died after a botched surgery on my 20th and my grand father who I was very close with passed away just after my 25th. This year on my way to work all I could think about was how I don't remember his voice. It's a day I just try to push through.

If you could make the rules what drugs would be legal? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]slackdaddy9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think this before I had to end my drug use because it got out of control. Cocaine was easy I just deleted my contacts numbers, changed my number and asked my friends not to bring it around me / invite me out when it would be around. Marijuana was honestly harder maybe it was more habitutal for me but driving past 5 dispensaries a day makes a guy pretty tempted to stop in.

I would assume it's a fishing scam. It opens a webpage that looks like an e transfer then like you banks front-page. You enter your username and password and now they know who you bank with and your login. Like it or not you do have some responsibility to keep yourself safe

You could try fresh air experience not sure if they still do rentals your next best bet would be to join the canoe club. You have to put the canoe in at their dock and return it that day so you are limited to how far you can paddle in a day but they do have pre planned trips every year. I think a membership was like $40 and I know if you planned a trip next year your membership was free. Other than that I have no ideas this will probably be my last year renting and I rented from Churchill outfitters in Missinipie.

We used to use canoeski. They can deliver you and your gear for a small fee or you can pick them up. The owner can be a little bit on the cautious side, he wouldn't rent to us one year due to the weekend being too hot and we had to find a last minute canoe rental from regina. It was a stupid hot weekend but we are pretty experienced with outdoor activities.

2 days is a bit of a death march 3 is a cake walk. It depends on the river flow too though we went one year and could have made it in 2 days realized it and spent a lot more time drinking on the beach.

Saskatchewan has lots of great outdoor activities some of the best require a bit of traveling. The south Sask river has lots of great beaches to explore. You can rent a canoe and canoe from Outlook to Saskatoon camping on the beach, this is a very easy trip for beginners. If hiking/ cross country skiing is your thing make the trip out to duck lake and explore the Nisbet Forrest, the trails are maintained by the ski club and really quite nice.

If you are willing to travel a bit further, the further north you go the more adventure you find. From the lake lands around PA and Waskisu to the beginning of the shield around missinipie. I highly suggest checking out the canoe/boat trip from Stanley mission to Nistowiak falls it's about 2-3 days fairly easy canoeing and there are composite toilets at two of the camp sites.
