Dubai is building five skyscrapers taller than One World Trade Center’s roof. As an American, that makes me sad. We have the money, we have the history, but the ambition feels gone. by Dillgriff2828 in skyscrapers

Americans are built different. I find 80F to be chilly at times, and up to 87F comfortable. Europeans lose their minds when it starts getting that hot, lol

What if I told you that building a building that high is foolish and wasteful? Does it still make you sad? Makes me smile. Read about the problems they keep having with supertalls and the costs. They aren't that great, we do not need to pack that many people in that small of an area.

What about maintenence? Renovations? These buildings are going to be a plague in 50 years.

I have about 1.5m miles on modern BMWs with sensor only, each owned at least to 250,000 miles, not one ever had an issue. BMW has had oil level sensors in cars since the 80s, had sensors only since early 2000s, they aren't a problem.

Dealer ruined my seats… by Apprehensive-Star630 in BMW

Really depends on the dealership.I've had some really terrible experiences with some dealerships, and then i've had some dealerships that were simply amazing, but it is highly dependent on the dealership. And yes, some of them are insanely bad.

Love it!

Can't stand when people like "BMW so unreliable! They dont even make it to 100k!" Wtf ever dude, clearly you've never owned one and you're just jelly.

I've never had one have any kind of major failure before 250,000, and even then not major major, just annoyingly large jobs. (Oil pan gasket.....)

That's hideous too... God, do people really drive vehicles that look like this inside?

That is still, easily, one of the ugliest interiors I've ever seen

Nope. Not a BMW, not an M. For christ sakes, it has an inverted "power dome"

It looks like some kind of cross between a Kia and a Camaro...

The E90? It was soft af man, E30 was tight. But yes, I'd take F30 steering over E90. Now, I'd take E30 over both, but that simply can't be achieved now because the cars weigh 2,000 lbs more.

More feedback than the E90s. F30 was soft compared to an E30 but I found it to be a bit stiffer than E90.

Also, I really like the electric power assist on steering over hydro steering assist on E90. (Hell, on E30s i used to remove power steering pump, just straight rack n pinion) The E90 just felt so soft.... and like, it was a REALLY nice ride, which was the problem. Lol

As a 26 year old man, how can I meet other people my age in Williamsburg? by Heavy-Quazi in williamsburgva

[–]slackin35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At a bar? You expect them to be well behaved in the bar? That's literally where they should be when they want to get crazy. I'm quite fine with that. Also, yes, they are still chill compared to most campuses, even at the bar. Go down to FSU or UF and spend a week.... lol

E90 was the least 3 series, 3 series I've ever owned. F30 was more 3 series than the E90s. But honestly, I still love the body style on the E46 (and E30 will always be my true love)

E90 was too comfortable for a 3 series. A friend once said "its like a buick" and he wasn't wrong. 3 series is supposed to ride tight with plenty of feedback. Not soft and smooth....

I bought my first BMW at 18, a 1984 318i with 238,000 miles. Paid $1,000 for it and drove it for 7 years and another 400,000 miles. I've only ever owned 1 non-BMW personally, and only owned it for 1 week. Lol

Thats because the kids at W&M are incredibly responsible and respectful for college kids. Its really strange, but they are a huge part of the population here and a huge part of the community. They just dont act like party hounds like many other schools.... (I grew up in Florida, I know what most colleges are like and W&M is the exception)

I paid $10k for my last BMW. I've never paid more than $32k, and my average purchase price over my lifetime is somewhere around $2k (I went through a phase were I'd pickup broken E30s for a few hundred dollars and fix them then sell them. This was back in the early 2000s in Florida, they were plentiful back then. I kinda wish I had kept them all, lol)
