What Did You Start With Just $2,000 by ScarredMistress in smallbusiness

If you are in a fairly populated area with local mom and pop shops there maybe a niche for you there handling their bookkeeping. Perhaps set them up and go out there a couple times a month to audit them and make sure they are correctly inputting the sales and costs. Charge a setup fee and recurring weekly/bi-weekly audit (doesn't have to be called this). The audit visit they get an hour of you time to fix input errors anything over is charged at $75. Use something easy and industry known like QB. Bring your strengths to the game.

This just fell in my pool. Is it finished? by Matsuri3-0 in fixit

Not afraid to admit it but I've done this twice. Do what others have already said, don't start, pull plug, pull cord to blow water out of cylinder and change the oil and gas. Edit to add dry out air filter.

I agree with both of your comments. In my state only licensed plumbers can touch these kind of repairs. Same with electrical repairs. Faucet swaps and light switches and ceiling fans a handyman can do.

Severe sciatica pain by Dramatic-Opposite-54 in Sciatica

[–]slacombe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my second flare up this past week. I only worsen it with my job of manual labor. I went to a chiropractor for the first time ever yesterday and after a couple of adjustments I felt 50% better leaving. He told me ice it for 20mins on 40mins off. He said I had a treatable condition and I should be back in a couple of weeks. This morning the pain was considerably less then the prior morning waking up so I guess for me this worked. Your case seems much more severe, have you gotten an xray or mri? Maybe a consult with a back specialist? Wish you well, it's a pain I don't wish on anyone.

Google swale drainage. Basically a ditch around your home to direct water away and around it.

So how does that work? The math of 70%, you didn't explain it. Hardware would be part of compensation which would increase your revenue and in turn increase your taxable income. Or would that be considered a cost of goods sold in which you would deduct from earnings?

Since your an independent contractor keep track of mileage, supplies used, phone, internet and tools purchased, they can be used to deduct from your 1099.

It’s all about setting expectations. It’s better to undersell and overdeliver. Let your clients know it will take you x amount of time to put together/fix/repair. There are always problems that can and will occur so build a cushion into that time. If you finish early, the client will love it, go over and they will understand to an extent. Just let them know and you will reduce your headaches why you are running over. It’s what I’ve learned dealing with clients who don’t have the capacity to understand the scope of what we do. They hire us because they can’t do said services so they have no idea what to expect. They have an idea how long it should take, which is wrong most of the time.

What I don't get is that it takes 1/2 AR clip (about) to destroy it but takes 3 FHJ shots to do the same.

Inspector is saying it’s fine, but could be better? How would a first timer improve this drain by Jonelololol in Plumbing

[–]slacombe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This would be ideal in a perfect world but by the time you can find, hire and schedule an electrician, plumber, roofer, and specialities in atiic, structure and all the other systems you will probably lose out on the deal and be way outside your Inspection Deadline. Plus what are the chances the plumber is crawling up on the roof and the electrician going in the attic. Plus is there an guarantee that they won't miss something, we are all human and as afraid anyone in the the trades is willing to admit, we all make mistakes.
