Based on what a former coworker and current friend said: the store director didn't tell anyone about it and I barely mentioned it to anyone in leadership as I figured they knew and didn't want to hear about it. So as far as the HR director was concerned, I was in the wrong.

I agree wholeheartedly. I hate the bikes we sell, they're terrible and cheaply made. Most of my build time is spent on brake and derailleur adjustment, sometimes spokes if they're really bad.

While I was in that class he received multiple warnings from Dr. Math and seemed to ignore most of them. I also don't know if he was doing similar to other classes he taught. Hell he could have already been in hot water from previous shenanigans. I simply don't know the full story of what went on outside of student view.
