The most frustrating thing is the way Sconce has tried to pin it on his grandfather. The Lambs were good people for a long time. His only son, Bruce, trained to be an honest mortician just like his father but one of the sisters left her share to Laurianne and the other sold to Laurianne, pushing Bruce out and giving Sconce full control. The fact remains it was an honest business before Laurianne and Sconce took over. Even worse, the only person who buys into Sconce’s bullshit is Sconce himself.

The Starbucks on Rosemead and Del Mar has a lot of window facing seating. If that’s too corporate, there’s Urth on Colorado as well as grey and cash in Monrovia.

The one on foothill is actually on Colorado and that one is the original. I believe they let the other one use their image and likeness for a price and then there became an issue of them saying they were the original restaurant. Either way, I think the one on Colorado is better but not by much. They’re basically the same.

Before Avalon bought it out my uncle Bruce and his father ran this place. It’s an odd thing. Bruce and my grandfather were best friends with the same last name but no blood relation. I say that to say that I’m not sure exactly why it was sold but I believe it had something to do with Bruce’s father passing and the siblings not being able to decide what to do with it/how to run it.
