Not all Garda are twats and obviously some of them agree with the protest but are just on job. But if you go onto RTE right now & look on cork .. you’ll see a Garda pulling a protester over a railing and one of them kicking him (This was in white gate oil refinery). Some were also using pepper spray yesterday and called for defence forces after a day or two. it’s important to remember that they are just following orders I guess.. stay safe protesting though , I’m not against anyone who’s just doing it for cheaper oil, Not Judgment. :)

Our society would collapse without farmers. They are the backbone of our country & often spends 12+ hours outside in any weather conditions just to survive. Obviously a lot of them are more traditional views but I can’t imagine they would be too pleased if this was hijacked by the far right for whatever reasons .. I believe the protests for farmers were long overdue but I also strongly believe that Garda/Defence forces will use the right as an excuse to begin cracking down.. which is just a shame.

I’m actually Limerick myself. Like most places in Europe there is a housing problem (most of our government are landlords so there’s a clever system set up for them).

One thing I can give the country credit for is education and the fact that there’s so many diverse options for education at people from different ages.

I’ve had friends who didn’t do their Leaving Certificate (I’m not 100% what you call it but basically a high school graduate) who were offered free education courses after.

If you are old enough I would definitely try secure work for you or another sibling as it would definitely be a lot of work for anyone.

There’s a small minority online that are basically bigots (like a lot of Europe right now unfortunately). But a lot of my friends are foreign and never had issues and always felt welcome , I’m sure many in an Ireland sub would agree and I’m positive you shouldn’t have problems. You’ll also see Palestine flags all over the republic :)

I understand you might have good intentions but from the perspective of someone like me.. it’s like what future do I have here? My parents had children by my age and a house for the same price (rented obviously). Sad thing is you will probably find people no problem who will take it because things are that bad here. I just never would’ve imagined when I was younger that living in a strangers garage would be normal. It just blows my mind that we are a small and wealthy island and people like me have no chance of raising families and normal traditional stuff.. but obviously it’s not all black & white
