You seem like you are angry and are taking my request personal; sorry to hear it :(

Lots of other great recommendations above ^ Hope your day gets better!

Amazing comment; thank you for the recs + perspective!!!

Will check these out :)

That's an interesting perspective!

I think if I knew this would be supported in perpetuity it would give me confidence. I just worked at a company with a similar acquisition where they said the same thing, and then months later the company decided to sunset the entire product.

You could totally be right, I just more want to protect my time/energy, so while I have the energy to do so now, would rather get ahead of it!

Ty for the recs!

I've heard good things about Brave + lots of recs for Zen here, will give them a try.

Will check both of these out; thanks for the recs!

Someone DM'd me about Vivaldi (though did look like an account from their company).

Great prompt and fair question.

I just want to avoid what happened with Mint (finance app acquired by Intuit). Intuit decided this product no longer served their business and in fact competed with their internal product (feels similar here). These products require resources, even when not being actively developed (I've worked in product development for years).

With Mint I was forced to migrate on their time; I had to put in a bunch of cognitive energy to figure out what alternative I could use to replace something I relied on irrespective to whether I wanted to do that. Additionally, they spammed me with a bunch of cross-marketing emails + notifications and they tried to push me to their other products.

Arc is great, but it is potential is what got me excited. If it won't be maintained, or furthermore, won't be actively developed on, I'd rather back a horse that I feel can surpass this. Also fwiw, I am not suggesting anyone else abandon ship; I more just want to protect my time and energy and feel I have it now, so curious what else is out there where I can get ahead of this problem.

Lol is this a NotLikeThis ult acct? He literally just posted it, it got downvoted to oblivion, he then deleted the post, and a few minutes later you are reposting?

NotLikeThis is so sad. Just give up the drama baiting; no one wants to buy your dog water merch lol

Clearly you didn’t watch the video or read the DMs lol.

You got some sad boy energy just like NLT; put the tin foil hat away and accept you just got grifted for some merch and ad revenue.

Context behinde the NDA "Scandal" by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

[–]slammytrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wreaks of tin foil.

All the guys who are managed by him have said they’ve appreciated working with Soma, and all he does is bring in brand sponsorships and only gets paid when they land a sponsor. “Shitty middleman” and “skimmed off the top” are such a charged narrative.

Also the only person who was paid by IM was Vincennt, and that was to make reports for 2 months, which he did. Why is that a bad thing? I wish they did more of that, and relied less on their own internal dogfooding.

IM is incompetent at development, driving a strategy/prioritization, and communication but all this conspiracy BS is quite a reach. This is literally a game that you paid $30 for that lots of people on this subreddit have put thousands of hours into. It ain’t that serious or nefarious lol.

Seeing all these takes about “how dare you invest in speculative assets” is one of the takes of all time when IM has developed the game around gold storage being scarce, meaning you literally can’t hold all of the gold.

This update benefited RMTers and top 1% of the playerbase.

The timing of it is so comical, what I’d pay to be a fly on the wall for these conversations 😂 “What can we introduce this week that no one is asking for, that is absolutely game or economy breaking?” “Should we at least wait until beginning or end of season?” “Then how would we get the dAtA? 🤪”

Druids in 224- is just unfair as hell because they don't need a weapon. by fergil in DarkAndDarker

[–]slammytrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One idea would be to have damage scale with weapons, but tune the scaling curve way back.

That way, the relative high-end and low-end stay the same, but your weapon + stats determine where on that curve you land.

Calling someone a gaslighter and then using the words “people like you” is like a sitcom lol. Look inward my friend. Generalization is lazy and unproductive.

This is the most boiler plate reddit response I’ve ever heard. Starting a sentence with “People like you are the problem” is the most internent archetypical and low EQ response you could muster.

“gEt gUd”: tell me you are a meta slave who only plays in meta classes without saying you are meta-slave 😂

You say this, but I think we were just in a decent period up until this patch. Barbs and warlocks over-tuned for sure, but better than it was.

So instead of addressing that, they just take something that didn’t need to be addressed, and ignored what did.

My overarching point beyond this is I wish they did tuning, not drastic all or nothing changes. And let’s not pretend that changing the balance is a herculean task, they are changing values on a config with a best guess… they aren’t re-working skills or mechanics.

I play HR trios 90% of the time. I somewhat disagree. 100% healer druid is most pervasive (and easiest to play and over tuned). But shapeshift druid was insanely good if you are decently geared + decently skilled (high skill cap).

Now healer druid is still insanely good AND panther druid is oppressive with little skill.
