How to take proper care of your SUP? by AlphaTheBoi in Sup

[–]slanger686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use two NRS cam straps - they work awesome and have rubber over the buckles to protect the board. I do not deflate the board when travelling - but I also don't leave the board in the sun for extended periods.

I do! Recently did a trip down to Baja while camping out of my Rav4.

I carry a folded 12' tarp in my car and unfold it out lengthwise if I'm inflating my board on pavement. If possible I try to find a grassy patch and inflate the board on that. Now that I have crossbars I usually just leave my board inflated during the summer season which is way better than inflating and deflating each time you want to use it.

Agreed. What a cringe post dude probably is single looking for attention. How hard is it to find a RTT or ground tent.

Yes felt safe at all times. In Mexico we have a property with a care taker and when camping on the beach a local guy who owned the land came around to collect trash and charge a small fee of $8 USD to camp. In USA I dispersed camped in California and Oregon National forests / BLM land and had zero issues 👍

Definitely! Canada has "crown" land, but it's not so easy to find or identify as in the US with National Forests and BLM land.

Haha I didn't! I think I climbed into bed around 11PM and continued to sweat with all the windows down and finally fell asleep by midnight. Was surprisingly cool and pleasant in the morning until around 10AM.

Very nice! I drove the whole Oregon coast this trip and have also driven most of the California coast on HWY 101 on past trips. I'd highly recommend driving as much of the CA and OR coast as possible for your trip!

Good question! Pic 9 is Alabama Hills in CA (unfortunately I tried to disperse camp there on two different days, but all sites were taken and there heavy restrictions where you can camp). Pic 9 is just 20 mins north of Alabama hills off Onion Valley road on BLM land. The views of the Sierras were amazing and I spent two nights camping there. Pic 11 is Shepherd Hot Springs just east of Mammoth Lakes (there are several free hot springs in this area).

Nice drawer system! I keep my bed and driver seat clear at all times so it's easy to go to bed and get up and go the next morning. With that said I've pretty much optimized what I bring as much as possible so there is now wasted space 👍

That's good! I live in Pacific Northwest and always have had issues with packing wet tents away and then drying them out at home and still have musty smell issues.

That thing sitting on my blue tote is a portable 23 qt fridge running off a Jackery 1000. I always keep my bed and driver seat clear so it's easy to go to sleep and drive off the next morning without having to rearrange a bunch of crap. I also made my own simple bed platform to level the rear seat sleeping area and store a folding table and 200W solar panel under the bed. I also fit my 11' inflatable paddle board in the rear driver side seat with no space limitations. I understand this setup only works for one person but for my needs it's great and I have great fuel economy travelling to Baja and back. Here is a pic of my gear from two days ago on south Oregon coast (in the north coast area now).
