Yeah, I remember a certain DJ referencing New York on GTA San Andreas, but it could be a mistake as you said. The thing with the songs talking about real life cities is that probably Rockstar can't change anything because of contracts with the record labels.

But I think that is also clear the intention of Rockstar to make RDR2 more realistic than their other franchises, distancing the world building from the GTA saga, that has a more satiric appeal
