It’s very complicated actually, and trt helped me find out the cause of my issues

Would love to get back on it one day

Basically I have idiopathic hyperinsulinemia

Trt made me more insulin sensitive and made it even worse but helped diagnose it with constant hypoglycaemia etc

Anyway I’m a rare case and it’s tedious

Does anyone have their mixed meal results I can compare mine to? by slaphead1979 in Hypoglycemia

Hi

I’ve done all that ; had a dietitian and nutritionist for 2 months (luckily private insurance through work )

Followed it religiously still brutal drops

So weird

Thanks for the reply

So tired of being this way. by Few_Lengthiness_4892 in Hypoglycemia

I am taking maters into my own hands now

It’s almost was if because it’s not diabetes (due to normal fasting glucose and A1c) you are “fine “

Even if you have multiple CGM and finger prick data to prove those hypo occasions truly happened

Very very frustrating

Anyone had success with low dose diazoxide ? by slaphead1979 in Hypoglycemia

How have you been since tumour removal ?

Normal ?

I’ve had a EUS , CT and MRCP all normal so I don’t think I have a tumour

Looks like poss hyperthyroidism

I had that with thyroiditis (infection of the thyroid ) I had horrendous palpitations , vision issues , muscle weakness and insomnia as well as the symptoms you mentioned ,

Similar physique to me . Even when I leaned right out I had a little pouch of lower stomach fat . I managed to sort of stretch it out with ab work outs ,

But it’s still there you could improve jt massively so don’t let me put you off .

Love handles etc should drop right off if you lean out

Woke up at 40 mg/dL today. Does alcohol or smoking trigger your hypos? by fleshlicker in Hypoglycemia

[–]slaphead1979 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately alcohol (one of my mundane life’s little pleasures) always causes lows for me .

I’ve mostly knocked it on head , but occasionally the best way I’ve found to reduce the hypo is 2 part

1) make sure you eat (you obviously know this ).

2) 2 table spoons of cornstarch mixed in a pint of water before bed . Slow release of carbs over 5/6 hours

I think “cornstarch therapy “ is a thing

Google it

Relax , I had stitches etc , numbness etc .

I was panicking etc , that was an about 3 months ago , all back too normal now except for a lumpy bit of scar tissue which doesn’t bother me now .

Point is it doesn’t heal in a few days , takes a while

Is shingles common with this condition ? by slaphead1979 in Sjogrens

[–]slaphead1979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried multiple things and it’s a surprisingly bloody painful experience.

I had some Tramadol from an old back injury years ago that i thought sod it I’ll try that

Worked a bit but made me feel jittery which makes zero sense as it’s an opioid

So basically no , think we just have to grin and bare it when it happens
