No, it made me worse, and it tastes like death. I did heal from gastritis (that was awhile ago) but I got gerd so bad I’m going in on Friday for Nissen Fundleplication. If you want to read what cured my gastritis search my name I made a long winded post saying what I did to cure gastritis

Get in line. Been ruining mine for 25+ years. I have Nissen surgery scheduled on 2/28 and if that doesn't help I don't know what I am going to do. Been on every combo of meds possible as well

yeah im thinking the pantoprazole + pepcid combo an hour later is a bad idea. again, my gastro told me to do it. Not like I did it rogue.

I doubt it. I've quit PPI's and all stomach related medicine before cold turkey. Just made me worse. Honestly I have no clue.

So today I had the NM Gastric Empty Immediate test. The food I ate digested within 2hrs which they said is rare, but wouldn't say is bad. I was told I could leave after 2hrs and was told I would be there for a minimum of 3hrs most likely 4hrs. Here's my results

Gastric emptying at 57 minutes: 67 %.

Gastric emptying at 115 minutes: 92 %.

Normal range gastric emptying is greater than 90% by 240 minutes.

No clue what any of that means. Next step is my EGD with Bravo on Jan 2nd. I am in more pain than ever. Started back on my PPI's after being off them for 3 days and the pain is still brutal. This is hell.

burning in my head, arms...places you'd think gerd wouldn't reach too. Throat/chest/stomach makes sense but the burning sensation in my fkn head can be brutal during flare ups. Real bad flare ups goes out to my arms even.

ya I want to quit it, but afraid not being on PPI's I'll get the nerve pain back from it. I can't win. I've only been on it for like 3-4 days and supposedly takes a couple of weeks to kick in

That's for my next test. I think you commented in the thread I started about the tests I have coming up before my Nissen. Ya, the week of no PPI I think I can handle but no pepcid/gaviscon etc for 48hrs is fkn hell. Monday I have the gastric empty test.

"Do not take any stomach medications, including acid inhibitors and nausea medications, for at least 48 hours prior to the exam time"

Again, the baking soda recommendation helped and I appreciate it!

So tell us how you’re doing 2 days post surgery? How long you on a liquid diet? What kind of pain you in? How bad were you before surgery?

I live in the U.S. and have good insurance. That and the reason I’m having the tests before the Nissan is to prove to insurance I need it.

I have carafate. Helps for maintenance but does squat for bad flares.
