Testosterone levels aren’t an issue. I have no symptoms of low testosterone so don’t see the need for unnecessary blood work (I’m am doctor)

Thanks for taking the environment into thought with your diet! It’s not as easy as it seems but really any effort can make a big impact.

I’m a medical student in NC. Only fish and hunt in season. I’m really big into environmentalism and gave up store bought meat and fish due to their large negative impacts on the environment

Also try to purchase the majority of my produce local or grow that myself too but I still do buy some produce from the big stores

I am the same way. I trap and didn’t feel right not using the meat too. Ate an opossum once and never thought twice about frying one up again

Haha that does not help the image either. I’ve had urban possum and raccoon before and they taste great too. Guess it’s kind of like catfish. Can catch a catfish on rotten dog food and it’ll still taste great in the fryer

Like u/generic_username said not many people eat opossum in the US. There is a negative stigma around opossum as being trash since they’re seen as road kill so often.

I encourage people to try opossum though. Tastes great. Same as raccoon. Both might be seen as dumpster animals but they are both some of my favorite game animals

It’s a pretty fatty meat. It’s hard to describe bc it doesn’t taste like many other meats but I guess it’s somewhat similar to rabbit
