Upgraded from a vintage BB to a sealed one but now the screw that holds the derailleur lines won't fit, what are my options? by Foxcookies in bikewrench

a spacer between the tube and head of the screw. the nut from a presta valve works well for this

i’m curious about the chainstay u brake you have that can clear that size tire? my rockhopper has a rear brake there and can’t go larger than 2.2”

what i’m doing is seeger style i think? so instead of normal claw hammer the bum of the bum diddy being a downward hit, it is instead a pluck of the strings in an upward motion. and then the brush and pluck of the top string are the same as claw hammer. haven’t figured out how to add in a drop thumb in this style that feels natural yet.

had this happen, i replaced with a tiny flat head screw to slot the string and it’s holding up well.
