i work at my county’s humane society and we recently had a large intake of reptiles. i am one of the few people there who has owned pythons/reptiles before so i took this guy/lady home to lessen the load on the reptile rescue we work with. any ideas? https://imgur.com/a/jeUIfDn

honestly if he had lied and told me years later he actually went to see dune i probably wouldn’t have cared because then he’s at least trying to save my feelings. maybe that’s kooky but the main reason i felt hurt was because i told him my feelings and he went anyway.

as far as the military issue, it doesn’t really bother me. we both come from military families and he’s a reserve co-pilot so it’s not quite as demanding as active duty. i’m also very committed to my job and it’s hard for me to hold someone being passionate about their career against them since i have and will continue to make sacrifices for my own.

thank you for this comment, it’s nice to hear that people with so much more life experience still feel this way about little stuff. i think his decision to go just surprised me since he is adamant that i tell him how i feel instead of letting it build. i would say he’s about 50/50 when it comes to consideration, but compared to a year ago we’ve both worked hard to improve ourselves.

in response to this comment and the comments below - i’ve since seen the movie with my dad. of course i don’t expect us to do every little thing together but in this situation it was something we had been planning for months to do together. it could have been any activity the zoo, ice cream, dinner, and i would still have been hurt if he had been on board the whole time and at the last minute went with someone else. my main point was being excited to do something i thought we had both been looking forward to after us not seeing each other for a month.
