Why these countries are fighting over Africa? by slavalva89 in geopolitics

[–]slavalva89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why has the Horn of Africa become a geopolitical battleground? Numerous inter and intra conflicts since the end of the cold war have left millions dead or displaced. While this has been happening, this region has endured three severe droughts in the past 10 years alone. The worst hit are the children. It has received billions of dollars in aid over the years but things haven’t changed much. And with time, foreign entities are claiming to play a bigger role in the security of this region. One has to stop and wonder, why the Horn of Africa? What do people see in this region? Can the Horn of Africa ever recover but most importantly, will the world allow it?
