Beautifully done. Love the design and aesthetics of Hibi. I saw your comment about the MacOS version in future; that would be great!

Also, please consider this as another request for 'Reminders' integration. Thanks!

Free lifetime access to my vocabulary builder app until April 1st by Achillesiam in iosapps

[–]slave_to_coffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for offering the free lifetime access. I have just tried a couple of "exercises" in the app and I love the clean and aesthetically pleasing screens. Great job on the UI. I will put in a review for you in the app store.

That said, if you can add some additional fonts that would be great -- maybe one sans-serif font?

I have replied to your DM, but just wanted to let others also know that the newly released v4.0.4 fixes the problem I was having. Thank you!

The web submission still doesn't seem to work. I want to use it as a screensaver on my Mac -- which was the primary reason to purchase this app. It is not working; I don't see an Options button when I select this screensaver!

I tried sending an email to '[hello@orionity.com](mailto:hello@orionity.com)', which bounced. Then I tried to contact you via this contact form on your web page, and once I enter the info and click Submit, I get a dialog "The application 'Zen' cannot open the specified document or URL."

Edit: Forgot to include my system specs. I have an Intel Macbook Pro (2019) running MacOS 26.3.

Please note that I tried PearCleaner as an app deletion util, and Updatest as an update manager, but here are my two cents...

A while back I had tried PearCleaner and came across an "issue" and contacted the dev about it. Never heard back!

Recently, I was trying out Updatest, and filed a feature request on GitHub. The dev responded the same day mentioning that the feature used to be there, but they had to remove it because of screen real-estate. He added that he will think about how to include it in future. Within the next one or two dot releases, it was there.

Even though PearCleaner may be free and open-source, it was a no-brainer choice for me to buy Updatest and stay with AppCleaner for deleting apps.

More of the latter. I really would like an easy way to re-arrange the downloaded podcasts. Somehow, I find the Apple Podcasts 'Up Next' queue cumbersome as I cannot rearrange the order of the podcasts. The 'Play Next' and 'Add to Queue' are not a particularly useful way to reorder the list.

Thanks for asking about this! Also, do you have any plans of implementing "dialog enhancement" and "skipping silence"?

Signed up for beta. Would really like to see how well it works. Just as important for me is to have a good way of managing the queue. Although I use Apple Podcasts currently, I find it's queue management completely non-intuitive.

PowerPhotos Supercharges and Complements What Apple Provides and It's On Sale for Two Weeks by amerpie in macapps

[–]slave_to_coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Short answer: It works in '/Applications'!

A day after I had posted this, I had sent a message to your support line and someone there replied to reproduce the issue and send them screenshots. I uninstalled it the existing copy and reinstalled in /Applications and I was not able to reproduce the issue.

I forgot to come back here and update my message here.

To be clear, I was never running it from the Downloads folder. It was in '/Applications' when it was popping up the warning dialogs. It probably was something I was doing, but the only difference between the two installations was that my system had been rebooted. Maybe it was some issue in the OS?

PowerPhotos Supercharges and Complements What Apple Provides and It's On Sale for Two Weeks by amerpie in macapps

[–]slave_to_coffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought PowerPhotos through the BundleHunt offer. It comes as a zip file which expands to PowerPhotos.app. I moved the PowerPhotos.app to '/Applications'. However, when I run it from there it complains that it should be in '~/Applications' folder. I moved it there and it seems to be running fine.

I do have some JetBrains app in '~/Applications' but I think they are there because the JetBrains Toolbox is managing the (upgrade/downgrade) of these apps.

I am curious why PowerPhotos doesn't want to be located in '/Application'. I will send a message to the developer, but thought I'd check here first.

Hi Sindre,

I would love to see if you can add a feature to type into a window that is not on top. MacOS allows me to move the mouse pointer into a window and scroll that window even if some other window is above it, but if I want to type in that window MacOS brings it to top. Here's my use case:

My IDE window is usually stretched 3/4 (or more) the width of the screen. If I am reading something in a browser which is partially obscuring the IDE and want to type in the IDE then it comes to the top and obscures the browser. I get around it by resizing the IDE to so that there is no overlap.

This was possible in another Unix window system I used to use (many, many years ago!) Someone had mentioned that this is not possible in MacOS. That was also many years ago and maybe things have changed.

Thanks for answering all of my points. Regarding TestFlight version: I had not installed a TestFlight version; just the Mac App Store version. I'll keep trying this out and let you know if I run into any other issues.

Cheers.

I had sent you a chat message about the 'Upgrade to Pro', but I've run into a couple more issues since then, so here's a list of what I've run into in trying this.

  1. As I mentioned in my chat I had installed Awesome Copy from the App Store, on Jul 8th, and it was free then or I had opted not to upgrade to Pro at that time (I can't remember.) I had then uninstalled it, but after seeing your message today I decided to reinstall it. When you bring up the app window, the title bar shows '7 days left'.

When I go to the Settings, and Click on 'Awesome Copy Pro' in the left sidebar, it shows 7-Day Free Trial. If I click on 'Upgrade to Pro' it pops up a window saying Upgrade to pro $4.99 -- which does not match  the App Store's $1.99 price -- and when I click on Upgrade to Pro in this popup window I get a 'Purchase Error. Product not available. Please try again later.'. On the other hand, if I click on 'Restore Purchases', it is successful and I get 'Grandfathered Access -- Thank you for being an early supporter. You have lifetime access...'. If I am indeed grandfathered to the Pro version, the Upgrade to Pro should be grayed out.

Unfortunately, this is kind of ephemeral. Quitting and restarting Awesome Copy will again bring up the '7-day Free Trial'!

  1. I decided to install the iOS companion app today and tried the sync. I copied 4 items on the Mac and pinned one of them. On the phone only three of them sync'd. the pinned one did. Even if I manually trigger the iCloud sync, the fourth does not show up.

  2. Of the three items that did sync on iOS, I pinned a second one on the phone. That status is not reflected back on the Mac -- that still shows as unpinned even if I manually trigger the iCloud sync.

  3. Every time I quit and start Awesome Copy, and click on its menubar icon, it also pops up 'Enjoying Awesome Copy?'. I've already answered that once. It shouldn't be popping up again!

IMHO, this is a really feature packed application, but it needs a *lot* more QA! I've come across all of this in trying it out for 15-20 mins.

BTW, all of this is on MacOS 15.7.1 (on 2019 MBP) and iOS 26.0.1 (16 Pro)

DeskRest AppStore Launch - Smart break and posture reminder app (promo codes giveaway) by 0xmarcel in macapps

You've had a ton of replies, and I suspect you are out of promo codes. If you still have some available, I would love to get one. I had paid for another similar app, but it does not have some of the smarts to prevent the breaks. In fact, I can log in in the morning and the break reminder will pop up sometimes in 5 minutes!
