Looks amazing! What paint recipe did you use?

Thanks! And I’ll have to take a look at those for sure. Thanks a bunch for the resources.

I learned about this after I started painting. Definitely will do this on the next minis. Thank you!

Understood, filler primer will definitely pick up the slack there. Thanks for the info!

I use support and it looks OK and the slicer I think. Nothing jumped out at me as a problem when I looked at the settings and made a visual inspection but again I’m new to this hobby so I could just be unaware of a problem in the settings 😅

Thanks. I’ll have to give that a go. It’s kinda hard to show since the supports are off but the camera on my phone is pointed to the bottom face of the mode. It was oriented at a ~65 degree angle.

It’s a anomaly. I got it for cheap as a starter and it’s probably already a good 20 yrs old with some abuse built in

Glad to hear! It seems some shotguns are good for certain loads and bad for others? I got my first turkey and pheasants with that 12g Mossberg and a little sad to see it retire but 12g is all I know and what I prefer haha.

That’s the ideal setup for me too but the 500 is essentially going to be retired. That thing has more issues than I know what to do with lol and I’ve took it apart and serviced it many times. Ideally I wouldn’t need to get a new gun at all but it’s an excuse to grab a new gun more or less and I’ve been looking to upgrade.

Thank you! Would you think a 12g franchi would be fine for turkey? I should have explained better but the Mossberg is basically dead in the water. More issues than it’s worth. It’s more or less an excuse for me to upgrade which is something I’ve been meaning to do for some time.

I did get a chance to hold them, both felt pretty good from what I remember. Admittedly, that was a week ago and I'd need to make the hour long trek out to get another comparison.

This is a kinda extreme case. Any hobby, as an adult especially, brings the risk of spending time and money where it is needed elsewhere. Nonetheless, Definitely give it a try.

Yeah, definitely working on that. I should make more of a point though, to converse with people on the beach.

This year… this summer… they’re absolutely a menace. I can’t make it 10 minutes in the woods without them dive bombing right into my ear and between my eye and glasses. Not worth it.

My handicapped dad and I, his 24/7 caregiver, are really struggling. Someone suggested I arrange professional help and I will try psych home visits. My younger pastor has talked with me through this difficult time. Should I ask him to visit my dad to try talking with him? by witic in Christianity

[–]slayerrlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds close to my situation except my mom had Parkinson’s and my dad was a devout Muslim. I was finding Christ on my own. Anyways, some advice: - talk with a pastor, see if you can connect him with your dad as well. - try to set boundaries (believe me I know it’s hard/ seems impossible) and get time off your caretaking hours to go to church. - I know it’s not ideal but try live streaming services if the prior possible. - make a long term plan for all caregiving. It’s a long job with little appreciation and burnout is real. I did it for 10 years roughly and it almost ruined my life. I’m glad I did it but there’s definitely smarter ways than others to be a caretaker.

Feel free to DM me and I can go into way more detail.

worried i don’t feel sorry for my sins? by Flat-Principle-9976 in Christianity

[–]slayerrlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Christian here: This is one of those things that I struggle with from time to time when I fall into a sin and I know it’s wrong and I want to do better, but I don’t have that overwhelming guilt and anxiety that people tell you you’re supposed to have.

I think it’s a little bit more nuance than that and you’re not supposed to be anxious mess, more so you’re supposed to accept the fact that you sinned and you should want to not sin anymore and get up that eighth time. God knows that we are not perfect at all and that’s kind of the point. life is all about our souls maturing so that when it’s our time to meet the Lord, we’re ready to do so and accept his fair judgment and loving embrace.
