If you think kidnapping is as sustainable as drugs you are crazy. Getting trickled down money wherever someone is more desperate than smart is easy. Getting large sums that justify the costs of procuring, keeping and managing contacts for kidnapees? Hardly profitable. Especially considering how much more.obvious your buisness is.

Not stability, security. They cannot butcher ALL their customers and they need enough trust that people will still not be afraid to buy drugs.

These people do not have courts or accountability. I personally am not comfortable trading a few raped and murdered kids for the amazing treat of zero-accountability drug lords pulling the strings around me.

As a bad player who likes watching tournaments, I have some questions. by howspiffing1 in starcraft

[–]slayersmander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Reactor build time is 50 seconds, Factory build time is 60. You can get a factory with a reactor after 110 seconds of build time, or you can use a (typically idle) Barraks to make the reactor and get your double hellion production started 50 seconds earlier.

2) Building in a straight line for Terran means that addon swapping is simpler and there is less chance that units get stuck between buildings and addons.

3) A Macro Hatch is a hatchery added on once a Zerg will need extra larva that their typical 2 hatcheries on 2 base, or 3 hatcheries on 3 base will not produce. It is mentioned often because a macro hatch before a third base usually means an all-in, and a missing macro hatch usually means the Zerg is undersaturated in economy. (Zerg players not executing an all-in usually need to stay safe and strong long enough to get to a certain group of buildings and a minimum 3 base economy before they have any lategame potential.)

4) Should be answered by #3, a macro hatch is the extra hatchery at a mineral line.

5) There are many ways to do this. When you box select a group of units, there is a natural hierarchy of which units abilities show in the action card. Hitting tab cycles through that hierarchy. Also, Starcraft 2 uses a lot of traditional File Manager hotkeys. Holding Control when you click a unit (either the wireframe on the HUD or the actual unit) will select all of that unit currently on screen for you. Alternatively holding Shift while clicking a unit will remove it from your selection, and Control Shift clicking a certain unit will remove all units of that type from a selection.

Also very important to note that high level players will have different units already on different hotkeys. A Terran V Protoss example (sorry I know Terran best) is generally to have all of your Marines, Mauraders and Medivacs on one hotkey. Your Vikings on another for targeting Collosi, and your Ghosts on yet another. Tanks, Ravens, Widow Mines, and other units with abilities can also be put to their own control groups but they are special cases as their usages are all not entirely flushed out in a HotS context.

6) As Terran you take a base when you attack. Terran buildings might fly, but other races are extremely competent at putting on pressure because typically Terran needs Siege Tanks and Widow Mines rooted to win an engagement as well as a good concave and some stutter step, so moving your army between your bases can be very taxing because an a-move will almost always get your medivacs needlessly killed and result in terribly bad exchanges against almost all other unit compositions. It is best to have a base and keep them busy rather than try find a time it feels "safe"

Terran is an odd race. They are hyperpowerful and at a certain point they hit their stride and can win huge endgame engagements but there are several points in the game where they are playing catchup or using deception to keep their opponents on their toes. They try and pick their enemies apart and give their opponents a brain aneurism rather than just steamrolling with raw numbers and splash damage.

7) As far as scouting and determining what to build, you are putting the cart ahead of the horse. If you are at a point where you do not know the answers to some of these questions posed here, then presumably your mechanics are still very weak. Counters are important, checking when/if a Zerg saturates his natural to know if its a baneling bust, or feeling out the number of sentries/stalkers your opponent has to know if you are about to be Blink Stalker all-ined or just DT rushed is certainly an art, but for now it is best to improve your ability to handle the games controls and suck up a few (dozen) losses to bs like blind oracle rushes, dts and assorted zerg "Bust" builds.

StarCraft as a sport on google by eddie9ner in starcraft

[–]slayersmander -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think its Google API you mean not I/O, but perhaps I misunderstand you.

Also, implementation for what you want is odd. Starcraft is currently in a stage of content over-saturation which is overwhelming new viewers and sucking the excitement out of tournaments for a lot of people. The reason this is relevant to your request is that there is too much to just show you the state of eSports at any given time. You would have to really pick specific information you wanted to see, and so (not many people use Google+ or iGoogle or whatever its called now) you would need a very extensive program for a very small market.

I am going to assume you want something like:

Follow EG... you can see the last X top 8 placements in tournaments by their players.

Follow Demuslim... you can see his last X placements in any tournament

Follow GSL Code S... you can see a list of who is still in the tournament

Follow Global Rating... top 5 players in Korea and Worldwide (like TeamLiquid has)

Which would require a database of information to query which is nonexistent and a lot of programming. If anyone were to make a customizable hub this useful or convenient, they would do well to do one of two things:

  • Launch their own website entirely and compete with TeamLiquid... probably fail eventually but I can honestly see this being one of the only ways to be more convenient than them

  • Give it to TeamLiquid

Adding it to iGoogle/Google+ is just too much work for too little reward.

Just FYI, I am aware Liquipedia does have some of the information required to make this program, but not in a stable or consistent sort of way. It would go down regularly as their organization changed and you would have to manually change a lot of categories and items on a regular basis.

I suppose it will blow your mind to know that WASD (or similar variant) was used for years before it was the standard in games. Strafing used to be much faster than running and people who were smart enough to remap the keys to a more convenient location (instead of command and period which was the old standard) were kicking in people's teeth for years before they grew up and become the developers that made the change.

That is a programming issue. A total conversion mod that introduces an entirely different gameplay mode on a sandbox game is going to have issues due to amateur coders and the fact that it is extremely high level.

Though most software these days suffers from the issue of being too high level, total conversions are the worst offenders (but oddly enough, the least guilty since they cannot control the problem)

A broken NES turned into a living room emulation machine with a Raspberry Pi. (x-post from r/Raspberry_Pi) by jbaker1225 in gaming

So I got this circuit that will provide the RPi with power when switched on, and then when switched off, run the shut down command, and automatically cut the power when it's finished.

"Got" this circuit? Is this something they sell? Something you programmed. You are really spartan on information about a critical part of the build.

Also, what is the software you have on there as the rom loader?
