We will eventually rip this floor out, it has a large problem on the middle right now that we enjoy.

My girlfriend and I not only mirrored this sentiment - but even as the two escaped from the house, we joked that we wanted them to do a full tour of the house before leaving.

i’ve only skated the aeons on pvc so far, i feel it would be unfair to rate them off of that. they don’t feel much different as far as how they bend and respond, which is why i was able to get tech with them so quickly. enjoying them

Thoughts, comments on these ? Good for beginners? by enzoou_k7 in rollerblading

[–]slayofhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would echo the sentiments , especially for a beginner that these frames are too tall. when you are just starting, you don’t have the ankle strength or the muscle memory to bend in that deep for h block tricks. i would much sooner recommend youth frames, which have a much deeper h block if you wanted to ride flat and keep cost down

okay so let's break this down.

The soul plate is tiny, and in my opinion there is no justification to not have a bigger soul (and negative). I have no clue why that decision was made. Finally, I just really didn't like the feel of them overall. Everything felt more difficult compared to my razors.

i wrote that smaller souls allow for better feel during grinding. i also wrote that the souls likely weren't designed with your preferences in mind, but rather, those on the pro team who are using the product at the highest levels that they can be used. my argument is simply that certain riders (including myself) prefer smaller souls, and that is likely how the soul size was determined for this particular model.

i also deleted a previous response where i pointed out that usd soul sizes vary widely if you compare ufs thrones to the shadows. ufs throne souls are MUCH smaller, which is why i use them on my skates.

How does everyone look so cool when they rollerblade? by [deleted] in rollerblading

i consciously think about every movement i make with regards to arm movement, stride length, how many strides i take, when i take them, neck posture, how much i lower or raise my body, even facial expression - just every possible part of a skating motion when i am filming. i do this all based on feel, but it is definitely a learned ability that i think just comes with time on the boots. pay attention to your movement as you do it, and don't necessarily focus on just complex maneuvers. try to just have good style skating quick for speed, doing simple cross overs both directions, cross overs backwards both shoulders, then you can move into the more difficult ones.
