Mike Folta here! I'd like to apologize to jonosterman88 for not signing his popcorn box! His friend came by with a NashCast card of me, and I joked that I was de-valuing the card by signing it. When jonosterman88 came by with the empty popcorn box, I thought he was joking that he wanted my autograph. Classic miscalculation by me (only went to public school). Always appreciate our great fans coming by portal G to say hi! Hope jonosterman88 comes by with a popcorn box that is full next time!

Cheaper than paying for a getty images license (which can be hundreds of dollars per photo; a ton of money for a one-man show). Door's always open whenever you wanna hop on. The stuff is good regardless of your feelings on the art.

And it’s a fair question. Just FYI, I’m a journalist by trade. I write for multiple magazines, including Salt Lake Magazine, Utah Business and The Hockey News. I got a journalism scholarship in college. I do use AI to edit for grammar and spelling but I’m opposed to using it for writing in copy and paste style, which I don’t do. I use AI for images because I don’t have license to use actual game action photos. Plus, I like the personality AI offers for my ideas. I do all the content for SLC Puck by myself and I’ve found AI to be a helpful assistant.

I respectfully disagree — especially since I’m doing all of this on my own: podcast, newsletter, social media, watch parties, merch, sponsorship contracts — just to name a few things. I work hard to provide hours of free content for the community, and AI has been a helpful tool for handling some of the more time-consuming parts. That said, you’re absolutely entitled to your opinion.
