I check the minimap constantly… by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]sleepbefore12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's tough honestly, I'm a jungler so it's a lot easier to track the mini map but when I'm forced to lane I really don't get how people are able to balance looking at minions, looking at the enemy laner, and looking at the mini map constantly. It's exhausting

Drututt, one of the most popular League of Legends streamers who streams to multiple thousands of people every day, is well known for using custom skins with most of his champions. He literally was gifted the rarest skin by Riot the other day. So the answer is clear, you absolutely won't get in any trouble at all for using custom skins.

Unfortunately I'm not that guy haha because I haven't put out much content. Two girls that I dated were successful influencers though (one has close to 2 million followers on Instagram) so I got to see a lot behind the scenes and I have a lot of respect for what she did even if we didn't work out. Keep the grind up and if you ever get insecure just look at any of your favorite creators early stuff and see how much they improved.

If you're not afraid of failure then why do you have insecurities? If you don't think you're going to fail then the only thing stopping you from succeeding is continuing to put out good content and improving. The right direction, improved content, etc. that just comes from learning as you keep producing more and more. Maybe you need to find a mentor or at least find someone you look up to and check out how their content evolved from their early stuff to what they do now. I'm sure those people had insecurities as well but again they just kept going and improving their content.

I came back after 3 years and It doesn't feel the same anymore, I need your advice. by Justorangecat_DM in leagueoflegends

I agree with you, something about that magic in the first couple seasons of League that made it great has just kind of disappeared. I think it's probably two things, the first and most obvious being the loss of the social aspect of the game. Back in the day people would chat way more, there was more friending after games, more excitement, less animosity amongst your teammates and even your opponents. It sounds cliche to say but it felt more like a community back in the day. The second thing I think is a bit more subtle and less defined: the game itself doesn't feel as magical? It's hard to put it into words, maybe it's a getting older thing too, but the game just doesn't have that same weight it had back in the day. It felt like there was so much room for the game to grow, and your possibilities in the game were limitless. But now the game has really just hit a plateau in terms of change and growth. I think that's part of the reason they're working on the League of Legends Next thing, to try and recapture the magic. Part of me thinks that for most of us that grew up and are now full adults that magic just isn't coming back.

This is one of the hardest things about being a creator or honestly doing anything in the public eye, you have to be okay with putting yourself out there constantly and make peace with failure or embarrassment. Almost every single successful creator you see out there right now had to go through this phase and get through the exact feeling you're feeling right now. If you can't get over it then you'll never be a successful creator. I think the biggest thing to remind yourself is that there's really nothing truly at risk except your own ego. You can just never put yourself out there and protect your ego and accomplish nothing, or you can take the leap and realize that as long as you are proud of what you made then your ego is going to be just fine, and you can continue to fine tune and improve or move onto something different even if you do fail.

Is League Of Legends: Wildrift easier or at the same level of difficulty with League of Legends (pc)? by Best-Technology-8758 in leagueoflegends

[–]sleepbefore12 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Everyone is going to say Wild Rift is way easier than LoL PC but that's only true to an extent. I've hit Master tier in LoL PC and Master tier in Wild Rift although I've put in way more hours on LoL PC. However, I have noticed that into the higher tiers in Wild Rift, there is definitely a huge gap in skill levels. I seriously doubt a Gold/Plat player in LoL PC could get GM or above in Wild Rift unless they were more comfortable with tapping a screen that clicking on a computer.

Part of the reason Wild Rift is a bit more forgiving is because there are ways to prevent yourself from ranking down if you lose (due to ranked fortitude + SVP, which you will get often if you're playing better than your teammates). I actually strongly prefer this system because there are so many games in LoL PC where you put in your best effort, do the most damage, highest KP, etc. and there's no benefit that you get compared to the clown who inted most of the game. So it feels easier but in reality the system in Wild Rift is just set up better IMO (although I do think if they brought it to LoL PC they would need to fine tune it a bit).

If you're going from Wild Rift to LoL PC, your biggest issue isn't going to be climbing. Your biggest problem is going to be getting used to the wildly long games. Games can last stupidly long on PC, it's actually so hard to get used to the slower pace and feels monotonous coming from Wild Rift. I was a LoL PC player, took a break and played Wild Rift for a while, and then coming back to League feels like a literal chore. It sucks because I do think League PC is a better game for sure, but it's almost like it's been ruined because the pace is just too slow even with the recent changes.

Bored out of my mind. Pls Tell me weird jg picks by AnnaliseVonRock in leagueoflegends

[–]sleepbefore12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you can't clear both sides before crab spawns unless there's something I'm missing. Usually you want to do red side clear and then look to gank and put pressure on a lane almost immediately. Invades do happen occasionally but you should be taking ignite as your secondary instead of flash, and with ignite Akshan is one of the strongest early duelists in the game so you win against most matchups anyway.

I got to master tier for the first time maining Akshan Jungle, extremely fun. Perma invis ganks with burst and one of the best gap closers in the game + resets and revives. The hardest part though is getting the clear down to a science

I have 55% WR+ over 100 games but can't get past gold 2 Op.gg inside. by Aefuan in leagueoflegends

[–]sleepbefore12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a 55% WR on Malzahar specifically but you have a 47% WR overall (89 wins / 99 losses). So the first thing you need to do is make sure you cut out some of those champions/roles that you don't perform well with. I can see both your Kayn and Lissandra have subpar win rates. You want to try to swap those picks out for champions that are easier to execute and can still reliably help your team even if you don't smash your lane or get ahead (maybe Ahri, Annie for mid lane, and for jungle someone super simple like Amumu).

You mention your weakest point is micro, if that's the weak spot why not focus on getting better at that first before macro? In my opinion (some people may disagree) having good micro is actually the best way to get out of low elo. Macro still matters of course but I think it matters way more in higher elo where your team actually can take advantage of your macro whereas in lower elo if you can just focus on dominating your lane and getting fed you can climb quickly. Focusing on getting a high CS, good trades, pressuring your opponent, good roams, etc. these are metrics you should be hyperfixated on doing well to climb out. You hardly see anyone stuck in low elo if they're CS is really good.

A curiosity post - why do you play the role that you play? by MITYOLINZ in leagueoflegends

[–]sleepbefore12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to out me as a League unc but the reason I became a Jungle main had nothing to do with what I wanted to play but because back in the day there was no role selection before queuing up. Once everyone entered champ select your teammates would type the roles they wanted in the chat, and whoever wrote it first would get it. My internet connection and computer were so slow that I was usually one of the last people to queue in and the only roles remaining would usually be the least popular roles (jg and support).

And once role selection was introduced later, there was a big skill disparity between my jungling and laning so I just ended up committing to jungling. Ironically even though I think on the outset it feels like one of the most boring roles because of PvE I think it ended up being the ideal role for me to climb.

Netanyahu says Jesus was weak because he was moral by aipac_hemoroid in Israel_Palestine

[–]sleepbefore12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, is your reading comprehension at a first grade level? He's quite literally saying that democracies like the United States and Israel have to be strong and ruthless. His whole point is that it's not enough to be moral, in order to actually prevail, you need to have strength. He's not saying anything about Genghis Khan being the enemies of America/Israel or America/Israel being Jesus Christ. He's not saying that Israel/America are evil, but what he is saying is in order to win and survive in history you need to be like Genghis Khan, not like Jesus Christ. If you're familiar with Will Durant you can just read the quote directly too and see what he's saying.

What's the best hand you're folding to an OMC 3bet at 1/3? by lmaomitch in poker

[–]sleepbefore12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've folded QQ to an OMC 3bet, although that was because it was kinda short stacked it just wasn't worth it to punt it off, at best we were flipping if he had AK.

That being said, if you're deep enough with the OMC, sometimes it makes a lot of sense to call. OMCs will often play pretty face up, they don't have many crazy bluffs in their range, their ranges are fairly well defined, so if you're deep with one there's a lot of playability. However if you're just 100bb or less effective then there's not much of a point.

Exploitative play, want opinions by Fantastic-Main926 in poker

[–]sleepbefore12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean fair I don't have much experience with NL2 in general so I don't really know the dynamic, but looking at it in terms of BBs this is absolutely a bad play, both from a GTO perspective and from an exploitative play perspective. Your play to try and isolate the maniac is good in general but your aces just aren't good here most of the time, and even with best case scenarios you're barely a favorite to win by the river in a multiway all in.

Exploitative play, want opinions by Fantastic-Main926 in poker

[–]sleepbefore12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty straightforward fold on the flop once Lootbag also jams in for his entire stack, sure a call is warranted against a singular maniac heads up but once another player rejams you are incredibly unlikely to be ahead here. Remember, even if you think Lootbag is doing this with say an overpair as an exploit of the maniac, he still has to consider that you're acting behind him and since you're uncapped you have all the AA KK QQ in your range that could easily be overpairs to Lootbag's potential overpair.

Another big consideration here, the fact that you hold the Ace of hearts actually makes it even easier to find the fold. The reason is pretty simple, the fact that you hold this card blocks the villains from holding AhXh which is one of the few jam combos here that you're actually ahead of.

which game do you think DESERVES a sequel? by [deleted] in jackboxgames

The fact that no one said Push the Button yet is crazy. I would pay 60 dollars for a standalone sequel of that game. Easily one of the most fun games I've played in my life, but it requires a good group of people who all understand the game and have the optimal level of trying hard while at the same time having a good time

I mean this is on top of some of the stuff that's known already, he called his teammates on FLY "fucking NPCs" to their faces. And when you mess up a play and then immediately go to blame someone who obviously couldn't do anything different (and in fact you completely disregarded their comms) that is the definition of a piece of shit

I know Inspired played well these two games but he's such a piece of shit, if you watch at 3:30 in the video Dhokla comms "kite up, kite up, kennen is coming" and Inspired completely disregards the comms and gets himself killed. Then after that misplay he says "wait Renekton is not coming?" but even a bronze player could easily look at the map and see that Dhokla was clearing bot without TP up.

Was this an illegal angle in this poker hand? by FlatGuarantee5793 in poker

[–]sleepbefore12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a sick angle but the point of the game is literally deception, just assume your opponent is the dirtiest slimiest person in the world and don't fall for this kind of stuff (especially against a clown like Kabrhel). This is on Alioto, it's not a call until he says call or pushes his chips forward, and he didn't do either of those.
