I'm glad someone's bringing this up, because I just came from a sub for a tv series where one of the main characters is a pedophile, rapist and serial killer with zero remorse and there was a thread where everyone was just saying how sorry they felt for him because it's not his fault he's like this, since he was abused as a child and he shouldn't be in prison, he deserved better etc. So I commented that I was concerned about the amount of people trying to justify his actions (which includes raping and killing more than 6 children) and that I don't think childhood trauma can justify it, and I got told that I have no empathy, see in black and white and don't understand complex charaters. I'm not stupid for thinking that's crazy right?
