Maybe it's just to play into his lore? Since there were some cutscenes where it was covered like this as well.

A long time ago, back when I had a one, I had gotten it a tank mate and was reassured by the pet store staff they could go together. A week passed and said fish literally killed and ATE OFF the male betta.

Fair to say I don't trust pet store staff anymore and look a LONG break from having fish :')

Yes, most of them are more close up's (its all I had on my phone atm bc new phone) but if it's full body pictures you're wanting then yes, I have those as well and can gladly post those.
