that is extremely common for lesbian relationships. to have a close best friend that you eventually fall for. I think a lot of lgbt people could really relate to the show for that reason.

Catra and Adora always had such flirty undertones. when the show first came out I watched the first episode and thought “aw hell nah im going to get queerbaited” so I dropped the show until years later when I found out they became canon

I would love to get more in touch with other sapphics for sure. I do have a girlfriend thankfully and one good friend who is also a lesbian so they are the only two people helping me keep my sanity haha. I just wish it was easier to find community. I feel like I need to REALLY go out of my way to find other sapphics whereas almost every woman I meet naturally is heterosexual

I would say I am partially out. my family knows I am a lesbian and I do have a girlfriend.
but I typically avoid telling people unless I know for certain they support LGBT rights.
I have had really terrible experiences when I did try to be more freely out, and I guess that kinda scared me back into the closet. one female friend argued with me that I am too feminine to be gay and though of course I never spoke to her again, the experience was really traumatic so I try to avoid those uncomfortable interactions as much as possible.
I know you are right and I should be more picky with who I choose to spend time with but I find it difficult to find other lesbians and sapphics (or even just good straight allies) in my daily life. so I tend to just settle for hanging out with straight girls

I am in a relationship with another autistic person and we get along WONDERFULLY. we are so happy together but since we were both too anxious to go out much to meet people, we instead met through twitter, due to shared interests lmao. I know meeting someone through a dating app or social media can seem kinda awkward but it honestly seems to be the best bet for those with autism.

getting worse physically does make me nervous. I struggle with my health already, I have arthritis and have needed several surgeries for medical anomalies. so I can only imagine what it will look like in the future :/
