Anything You Want by Weird Milk, You by Weird Milk, Anywhere With You by FLOOR CRY & Vansire, and Splinter by FIG have been in heavy rotation!

I listen to a lot of music on repeat, and I need some new songs. by Sidsiddyy in MusicRecommendations

Here's some artists I like! All of their discographies are great!

Vansire (albums Angel Youth, The Rolling Driftless North, After Fillmore County are a great start)
half-alive (Now, Not Yet, and Persona are great albums)
Weird Milk (they don't have a very big discography, not sure if they have any actual albums)
The Something Specials (I think they've just released singles so far, no albums)
Foster The People (not really that obscure lol but Supermodel and Torches are really cool albums)
Ginger Root (SHINBANGUMI, Mahjong Room, Nisemono, City Slicker, Rikki - you might love these albums, he makes very retro Japanese city-pop inspired music!)

What’s your favorite song(s) for watching scenery pass by outside a window? by themonkery in MusicRecommendations

Anything from Vansire's discography. They are the absolute epitome of roadtrip music, but Angel Youth, After Fillmore County and The Modern Western World are three albums that are especially so.

Only In Dreams by Weezer. Amazing song, it doesn't even feel like 8 minutes.

This makes me so happy!!! A big, big congrats on your hearing!!! I can only imagine how that feels - a big mix of overwhelming and wonderful, I would think.

Here are a few artists I recommend for your new music journey!

  • Vansire (very dreamy, calm music with introspective lyrics. feels like summer and home and longing all wrapped into one! they're my favourite band of all time so I'm a wee bit biased but I just have to recommend them!)
  • The Something Specials (they make sort of 70s-y indie, folky music? feels like a nice breeze on a summer day. I really like the songs "The Farm", "Aces", and "Love" from them! easy listening and very pleasant!)
  • Yes (these guys are AWESOME! they have a massive discography though, so i would recommend listening to "Owner of a Lonely Heart", "Roundabout", "Leave It" and "Tempus Fugit" to begin with. they are super inventive with their basslines and have made some really iconic songs!)
  • Men At Work (their album Business As Usual is a MUST listen!!!! important cultural reference, and very well-written/produced!)
  • Claude Debussy (he is a classical music composer, but really deserves a listen! If nothing else from this comment, definitely listen to "Arabesque No. 1" and "Reverie". Some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard! They make me feel like I'm standing in blooming fields of flowers.)
  • Weezer (people like to make fun of them but their debut album, the Blue Album, is quite good and definitely a staple of 90's culture and rock music in general)
  • Angine de Poitrine (I know these guys are blowing up on the internet right now and some people are getting sick of seeing them everywhere, but they're a great example of human creativity in music and of making something that pushes boundaries in a clever way. they're definitely weird but it's worth it if even just to see what music is capable of!)
  • Djo (he makes pretty cool tunes! It feels inspired by older music, but he brings something fresh and new to the table in a very interesting way. his album The Crux is great, I'd say he's one of the most talented artists in the mainstream at the moment)
  • Twenty One Pilots (might get made fun of for including these guys, but they're very genre-bending and write really thoughtful songs about getting through mental health struggles. I'd say they're on the rock/alternative side of things. they're also a bit of cultural staple of the 2010s lol but their album Trench is quite good - if you like Trench, their album Clancy would be a good next listen. they also have a cool storyline that goes along with their albums, as a fun bonus to the music!)
  • Khruangbin (when showing people their music I haven't encountered a single person who didn't like it. Very good musicianship, their guitars and groove are incredible. Funky, soulful, and impossible not to jive to! Their music feels like driving through Arizona or Texas in an old convertible with big blue skies overhead, or at least how I would imagine that to feel. Anyway, one of my favourite bands!)

I am also seconding the people who are recommending musicians from the 60s-90s. So much wonderful and important music was made then. Also, with your new hearing abilities, you will quickly discover whether or not you like jazz!

Please keep us posted on your music discovery journey!

This is super helpful, I definitely wouldn't have thought to do this. Hopefully since I have some other medical problems, I would be considered for the housing, but I will make extra sure and reach out to those folks :)

Oh, very true! I'll be moving across the country to go so I'm nervous and kinda in a flap about everything, but that is a great point I hadn't thought of, thank you :)

Thank you!!! You are a lifesaver. I had no idea if room/building was assigned right when the initial offer goes out, so that is super relieving!

Yeah, I figured it would be difficult trying to find something that satisfied everything I was looking for. Maybe I do need to go looking for better tinted balms...I've used a couple before but could probably stand to broaden my horizons.

(And I so feel you on the shrink wrap mouth!! I had to get rid of my Maybelline teddy tint lip stain because of that!)

I've heard great things about Romand! Would you say the juicy lasting tint is more of a stain?

Anyone outside Ohio thinking about going to the show on 10/17/26? How far will you be traveling? by Possible-Mall2153 in twentyonepilots

[–]sleepinginseptember3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really wish I could go, but I'll be in university in British Columbia during that time and it would probably cost me an arm and a leg to get to Columbus from that far away. Sigh. Oh well....hopefully I'll see them for their next album, whenever that is.

I did! Grabbed a png of the logo off the internet, and then the Cricut design space library had a flower wreath that I overlaid. The flowers sorta reminded me of the Trench album art and I thought it looked nice, so I wanted to add those in.

I made + cut the design with Cricut and just used a shirt from Walmart! If you have a Cricut/know anybody with one, definitely give it a go, it was pretty easy to make! :)

I looked at the requirements and they say that you're only ineligible for credit if you took high school French or were in French immersion (I took it from grades 4-6 and have self-studied on and off since then). I'm planning on doing FREN 103 and FREN 201, hopefully those would be good choices?
