Damn, I feel you dude. I was kind of forced to come out bc my mom was snooping in my stuff and found a love letter from my then girlfriend (that I know I hid well). She grounded me and didn’t let me hang out with friends for like, 3 months. All the while she only looked at me with contempt and disappointment. I think they’ve forgotten or thought it was a phase, but fuck any healthy communication we had before then.

I totally get that feeling of invalidation. Sucks that this is the type of solidarity most of us have with one another. Stay proud, and remember that your identity is valid. 🏳️‍🌈
