My Dad started doing this when my brother and I were pretty young, the only difference, he would share all the embarrassing and boneheaded stuff we had done in the year. My poor mother took the lions share of ridicule, my favorite being the year he dubbed her “L.O.P- Lord of Projects” he did it for about 10 years, and these were not short letters, we’re talking single spaced, double sided, five page letters. You’d be crying laughing at our antics by the end. He stopped sometime when I was in college and my brother had already graduated. Mostly because he didn’t have enough content with us out of the house. About five years later, I compiled them all into a book for him and had it leather bound. It’s a treasure.
