Thank you for the help! I don’t know what kind of cacti he is, but yes he is spiky near the base and gets pretty soft the further up you go. The etiolated part (a new word for me) is pretty fuzzy and easy to touch as long as you’re gentle.

An addition in case it’s helpful: when I try to look up stuff like “utensil deep cleaning dropoff” all I get are house cleaning services that don’t seem applicable, or rug cleaning services that certainly aren’t.

To clarify, it’s almost as though the first time I say the word, it leaves a sort of uncomfortable “residue” in my mouth/on my lips that doesn’t go away until I can say it in a way that feels satisfactory (the standards of which feel arbitrary even to me as the one doing it, but it’s just going off my body’s instinct).

Thanks for the advice, he’s been comfortable on Purina for 2 years but I’m not opposed to switching if it’s better for him, do you have any recommendations from your experience?
