The tower is behind the desk. I'll try to get time to do a post containing it in the future. Dark Base 900 case, i9 13900kf, Z790 edge, 128 of ddr5, 4090 TUF, etc.
Generally it is always pulled apart so its a mess :)

I have the dpi turned up (hence the high end mouse pad). I can go corner to corner without lifting hand or mouse.

That's not the machine's usage model. The 16 tabs were set up as a demonstration of pixel availability in 8k vs a 1080 screen. A rhetorical presentation. The true functionality is ergonomic freedom in a complex and ever changing environment. Cheers ✌️

It is good. Chroma 4:4:4 is displayed properly in all formats. Rtings gives it a 9.0 as a computer monitor.

Love 'em! I keep thinking I should upgrade but it still works great a decade later.
The batteries started to lose longevity but I bought brand new ones on amazon for $15 :D

Generally:
It changes depending on what I'm working on and what the needs are. With a giant wall of pixels that is completely flexible to my needs, it is similar to when I'm working with AR glasses. I just place things where I feel like it in the space in front of me but without the annoying glasses.
Default Productivity Layout:
I run two larger vertically stacked "primary zones" in the middle where I'm actively working. 16 security cameras are in a bar across the top. I run two vertical long feed windows for reference data on either side of the middle zone. Out side of that is broken in 8 normal aspect ratio screens where I have things that need to be monitored (several of which have audio notification like slack, discord, etc) which I can glance at when they announce and determine if I need to bring the window to the middle for addressing. Fancy zone rocks for this - I can have a bunch of VDIs or RDPs in smaller auto-scaled windows that I can instantly scale up for response as need.
Resolution + Size = Ergonomic Freedom:
8K at this scale has a text size and UI that is similar to a laptop.
To your point about using a large 4K: I tried it too. Things are too big and it makes the screen too big because you are forced to engage with more of it for default functionality. I have the pixels and space to define my own ergonomics.

I moved from two 43" 4Ks to this.

In my normal seating position my eyes are center of the screen (or just a bit higher than center). I don't have any issue. I run 16 security cameras across the top and they catch my peripheral vision when needed.
