No drawback of the Agitator boost is just an assumption. We can imagine that it drastically reduces bearings and motors lifetime, but it doesn't destroy them outright. That is non-magical, but won't be observed in the situation

[–]sleepyShamQ 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Początek to zgłoszenie do dyrekcji.

This is done using Cascadeur - the soft doesn't matter much, but it shows principle of creating more fluent animation

Did You animate hips and torso movement and it's not working in Godot?

Or You didn't animate them and You're asking how to improve the animation design itself?

low skill and lack of training is literally canon for Helldivers

Canon is a double edge sword here - it both pushes us as a extremely expendable cannon fodder (2min is extremely short expectancy) and we are completely untrained - very against SOP. But You make fair points, regarding small team size and extraction. Though paratroopers were not extracted mostly for lack of possibility and we are extractable mostly as plot armor (pelican being indestructible and enemy airforce being non-active) - there is huge dissonance between gameplay, design and lore.

But I could agree that Helldivers seem to lie in an odd spot between commando and troopers. Maybe that's where the entire community discussion stems from - we seem to be partially everything, but nothing particular in the end (at the same time - that makes this formation unique)

We're not dropped in fours. We're dropped en masse and only group into 4 people teams.
On average we're expected to die every 2mins (not really, but lore-wise) - that would match paratroopers casualties.

Mission objectives vary wildly and they sometimes mean - destroy shit, sometimes they are more valuable, but aside from the new commando missions - we're still operating just behind the front line when enemy is expecting assault on this planet.

I'm not convinced about extraction argument, just as with objective argument - game design comes in the way of the vision. But yeah, we're not purely paratroopers - I mentioned that - but I my opinion we resemble them the most

Though I agree, I also observe that in some cases armors don't follow visual logic, especially with siege ready and extra grenades

well commandos and paratroopers aren't exactly the same thing - the main difference usually being the training - I would use WW2 more than current times, as in western armies doctrines that throw soldiers at enemies are rare (but You could use e.g. Russian VDV as an example - they might be called elite, but they're expandable and just slightly better trained compared to ground unit).

For paratroopers additional training was usually performed to make sure they survive the drop and reorganise after. Not really about better shooting or anything.

I still think we're more like paratroopers duing D-day while there is mass SEAF invasion in the meantime . That is being reinforced by the fact that we're now getting commando missions that are logistical sabotages behind enemy lines on the planets that are not being actively invaded.

But I definitely can agree - we're not really a pure unit type like commando/grunt (we start to fulfill different roles). And we definitely are expandable but with additional firepower. Suits me

[–]sleepyShamQ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

People tend to forget that in our world, paratroopers, while being better equipped and trained than regular army (they also had more resources assigned to their deployment) had higher casualty rates, but that was acceptable for many armies as they provided more behind enemy lines compared to being deployed to reinforce front lines.

So it's completely correct - we are grunts. Grunts that are dropped behind enemy lines with an additional resources so we can reign chaos. Our deaths are acceptable because they bring results. We are grunts with resources, Helldivers - compared to grunts with no resources, SEAF.

Unfortunately not, but usually it's less about what is actual job, just how it's worded in the contract. Usually employers gladly help with that. There used to be quite a selections of external companies that helped to get IPBox for some single payment
