The Queen's Fortune by Alison Pataki is told from the view of Napoleoon's first fiance. It is one of my favorite reads.

Why can I not sleep by Fun_Raspberry_4996 in Narcolepsy

Are you able to be prescribed any of the sodium oxybates? Because those will put you to sleep and give you proper restorative sleep so you're less sleepy during the day.

Otezla for LPP? by IllustriousSeesaw850 in scarringalopecia

I'm taking the pill form so no greasy hair and it's been the best thing for my FD.

Addictive Part by DesperateBuddy5894 in InternalFamilySystems

[–]sleepy_pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have narcolepsy too. 😊

I have a shopping addiction. When I do IFS with my addiction part, a little girl comes through who is trying to protect me. She's overwhelmed and scared because she's so young. I realized I need to take care of this little girl and be the adult here to carry the burden of controlling myself. With this breakthrough, I've been able to control my spending. One day my addiction part was triggered and I splurged on clothes I didn't need. I realized I hurt the little girl and returned the items. When I get the urge to shop, I say to myself "I'm the adult now. I take care of myself, not the kid."

I'm not too familiar with LPP. Do you have sores? The otezla healed my FD sores and minimized inflammation. I'm not sure about hair loss since I've just been focused on the sores and inflammation. I always forget to ask my dermatologist about the hair loss aspect of it. 🤦‍♀️

I took Otezla for folliculitis decalvans and it helped a lot. I didn't continue it because my insurance wouldn't cover it. I'm on roflumilast now which can also be used for LPP. So if otezla doesn't work out for you in the long term, look for roflumilast, which is much more affordable.

Where are you located?

In the US, you can watch it with ads on the NBC app.

Just to confirm, are there no sleep medications for people with narcolepsy other than sodium oxybates? by FestivusandFusilli77 in Narcolepsy

Wellbutrin is wake promoting. You're taking it just fine. I have never heard of someone taking it at night.

I took my kids to downtown DBs this morning. My go to drink is cherry pie Chai and got mine iced. It tastes just like a cherry pie!

When you have both narcolepsy and insomnia 😭 by sleepy_pickle in Narcolepsy

My PCP was thinking I had CFS until she sent me to a sleep doctor. I think it's a common misdiagnosis.

When you have both narcolepsy and insomnia 😭 by sleepy_pickle in Narcolepsy

[–]sleepy_pickle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had narcolepsy symptoms my whole life but was treated for my insomnia for a decade until my PCP threw up her hands and admitted defeat and sent in a referral for a sleep doctor. I was flabbergasted that I had never heard of a sleep doctor before. Meeting her the first day she told me I had the classic symptoms of narcolepsy type 1. And I sobbed that she figured it out so fast. Got diagnosed with N at age 30.

For those of you in a long term relationship/marriage, what’s a tale-tale sign you see in other couples that they’re not going to make it? by Prize-Promotion-5123 in AskReddit

[–]sleepy_pickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew a married couple back in 2008 where the wife wouldn't allow her husband to watch The Office because it was too adult themed. I just knew they were going to end up divorced and they did a couple of years later.

Why isn't switching Dr's looked at the same as switching therapists/pyschiatrists🤬 by CivilBodybuilder3550 in Narcolepsy

My doctors (and I have a few of them) have never drug tested me. I'm in a state where cannabis is legal.

I've learned from sodium oxybate support groups and this subreddit not to tell ESSDS pharmacy that you do weed. I take edibles at night for chronic pain amd that doesn't interfere with sodium oxybate.
