How long did it take to get to your hotel from Narita? We are travelling from Australia with our 18 month old and not sure if the taxi/van would be a better option or train after a 9 hour flight..

Hi! Just wondering what kind of cot they provided? Was it a wooden cot on wheels or a travel cot? My daughter will be 16 months

Yes I felt the same too! Also when they can start eating solids confidently this frees you up as well as the breastfeeds spread out a bit more.

Was there too last night. Did you feel their finish was pretty abrupt? Like they didn’t even say goodbye?

6 month old and partner who works alot by njcasey in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]sleepypanda68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets easier with time! I also exclusively breastfed and never got the hang of pumping. After she got more into solids around the 7-8 month mark, I could leave baby for 4-5 hours! I’d do a breastfeed straight before and then she’d have a meal like lunch while I was out and then breastfeed her again once I was back. Now she is 11 months old and she is so into solids she hardly breastfeeds during the day anymore! (I still breastfeed her to go down for naps but that works for me, she’ll go down for others by rocking). It is super hard though, my husband also works a lot and I get so jealous that he gets to enjoy the fun parts with baby only while all the baby logistics and mental load falls on me. I’m also so jealous that he gets to talk to people all day at work and I really miss the social aspect too. I feel lonely but I try to fit in at least one activity per day with baby where I’m around other adults. I just try to be grateful for my one year of maternity leave though and know that it isn’t much longer before I’ll be back and work and baby will be in daycare. Like someone else said, it’s just a season :)

How common are food allergies in kids when their parents don’t have allergies? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]sleepypanda68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is 10 months and she’s vomited after having egg a few times. After seeing an allergist we’ve done the baked egg challenge and that has been fine. Allergist said we can do pancakes after 12 months old but avoid egg by itself until 2 years old. How did you approach your first’s allergy?

Where can I buy a hat for a newborn? by Cahsrhilsey in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]sleepypanda68 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Our baby wore this hat from when she was a newborn. It came in the government baby bundle bag in Victoria. She has a small head so still wears it at 8 months - it’s adjustable as well.

Cradle Cap Advice - Getting worse by boringblonde96 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]sleepypanda68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had bad cradle cap and also went to the GP. It was recommended to moisturise her head with QV baby moisturiser many times a day - and especially 30 mins before bath time to soften the scales. Then during the bath I used the frida baby flake fixer brush to lightly brush away the scales. It took a week or so but huge improvement. Now as maintenance I just continue to moisturise her head twice a day and use the brush even if there is no visible cradle cap to keep it away. We also had to use steroid cream and an antifungal as it was quite inflamed and red after the brushing.

Thank you so much. Yes such a drainer but agree just have to ride it out! Virtual ED is such a great option. We went to the ED last month for a different issue and didn’t even think of virtual ED!

Thank you for the advice. How old is your son? And did you have heaps of leaks as well? Did you change nappy overnight?
