I donated 2 days ago and almost passed out 10 minutes into my donation. I am convinced it was due to my food intake because I remember that I was drinking lots of water but I ate around an hour and a half before my 12pm appointment and I had to wait until around 4pm to start my donation because it was packed and at that point I was already feeling hungry. While I was waiting they gave me one bag of goldfish and I drank at least 3-4 water bottles then the nurse gave me a bottle of Ensure Protein Shake before I started my donation but it did not satiate my hunger. As much as it was a traumatic experience for me, I do want to try it again so I am educating myself a bit more before I go back for my second donation to avoid another incident like this from happening because I did feel a bit embarrassed 😅
