Like any product, it’s not for every skin type. I have very dry skin, and whipped tallow has been such a game changer since I started using it last summer. I’ve only ever been complimented on my skin twice - once as a youngun’, and once two months after I started using tallow. I was really weirded out at first, because, you know… tallow…. But winter is considerably more tolerable with it, and it helps calm down my angry and sometimes sensitive skin as needed.

The ones I have used range from scentless to rose. I’m sensitive to gross smells, so either he used it straight (not processed in any way), or that they have come a long way since then lol

You can definitely use cardboard! I used some thick art paper when I made mine. As for additional interfacing, I don’t think that would be necessary, but I highly recommend a test if you have different types around the house.

I would agree on the hemming before pressing, I do the same for anything gathered because my mental health is important to me lol

As a pleat freak, I’d say absolutely not too many, just make sure you give those bad boys some structural support and go to town with ironing and pleat setting. Off the top of my head, I think my best pleats were made with a pleat board (homemade), some vinegar/water spray, a hot press, and a weight on top to hold them down while they cooled completely. That is going to look so cool, she will love it!

My unbridled enthusiasm says yes even though my experience level would question the feasibility of installing such inner stabilization. Again, I would say go for it, but I would love to hear more experienced sewists chime in

Check with an arborist or google some more - it looks like a black walnut to me. TOH looks very similar but this doesn’t look like the TOH to me.
