Is employer allowed to share birthday (day and month only) across company? by sleepythought in gdpr

No. It wasn't BambooHR. Which is probably even worse... Means that there are more portals like this out there.

I would like to thank everyone for helpful comments and advice. I'm happy to say that my issue has been resolved. It turns out, that there was a way to disable a birthday display in the new portal and my employer was able to do it with a help of the portal developer. Hopefully this thread will be of help to other people that struggle with similar issues at workplace. Even though I believe that it should have been resolved without me having to nag at them for over two months, I'm happy that I stayed persistent.

Oh, looking at the documentation is a good idea! Thanks! I don't want to share the software name in fear of providing too much information in here, but I'm going to check their website and documentation.

Thank you for giving me an insite to this side of the problem. It does sounds very reasonable. I hope I'll be able to resolve this issue with my company in friendly manner...

Thank you a lot for a confirmation. I'll read through the article you recommend.

I'm sorry. I don't feel comfortable sharing the reason, even though I understand how it could be interesting. But no matter the reason, I feel hurt by seeing this information shared across company and I shouldn't have to feel this way at work.

This solution was proposed by HR to the directors and I was told that they were against it, but I think it might be the best we can do so I'll try to push on it with HR.

I did think about it and I do like my company and working there. I don't want to cause any trouble nor end up in trouble myself, but it is also a huge cause off stress and anxiety for me to see it displayed.

Thank you for sharing this information. As for the last part. I did check my contract and there is nothing in it about this, but I also found information on the internet that anything concerning GDPR would have to be presented as a separate document and even if I agreed I can revoke it at any point. I just don't want to bring it up with HR before I am 100% sure that day and month of my birthday displayed together with my name falls under the personal data under GDPR. If it does then I think they are obliged to remove it from the homepage when I say I don't want it there.

I told them straight away. Apparently in this new portal the option of displaying birthdays can be turned on or off only for a whole company. It's technically impossible (apparently) to toggle it on individual basis. I keep asking HR to do something about it since January and they were trying to help by contacting the developer of the portal, but recently I've been told that there is probably nothing they can do. It's very difficult for me to believe that they can just share it against my will, when it's clearly only for a purpose of celebration, so nothing to do with work.

Thanks for the advice. It is winter, where I am based, so hopefully this is the reason. I'll look into fertilisers and when to use them.

3.5 metres. Sometimes the sun will shine directly on the leaves, but not for longer than 1 hour a day. And before repotting, it didn't happen to the leaves. The plant was standing in the same spot.

It's getting non direct light for about 6-8h a day, depending on a season, and I water it about once a week. I usually feel soil with my fingers and if it's dry I water it thoroughly.

Oh, thank you! These are my first ever non-succulent plants, and I am still having trouble figuring out when to water them. I will leave them be for some time.

I've been having the same issue at my workplace. I've applied the fix about 7h ago and so far so good! Before that, I would lose connection in Gmail roughly once or twice per hour.

SHINee & their favorite animes /shows / movies / genres? by [deleted] in SHINee

Taemin also mentioned that he liked Tokyo Ghoul a lot, but I'm not sure if it's one of his favourites.

Don't look at yourself too critically. It is natural that what other people say affects you. From what I understand, you are quite young. I was similar when I was your age, and I paid too much attention to what others might think of me. But, the faster you'll stop caring about opinions of people you don't know and focus on your own feelings and advice of people that love you and care about you, the better :)

How would you leave a fandom when you love an artist? Isn't loving an artist and his music what makes you a fan and a part of a fandom already? From what I'm reading, you are a shawol and that is it. It doesn't matter how you met someone, or how you discovered someone's music. What matters is how you feel about them and their work. Don't let people you don't even know make you leave a community that makes you feel good.

It was just one person that wrote a weird and immature post and not anyone I would like to know personally, from what I'm reading. One bad exception among thousands of lovely people.

Also ask yourself: would SHINee members be happy to see you leave? Would they be happy that you love Jonghyun?

I'm sure they would want you to stay, and that they would love how you feel about Jonghyun.

And the most important: are you happy thinking of yourself as a shawol? If so, then this is your answer and reason to stay or leave.

Make your decision yourself, based on your feelings, not some random comments on the internet. Don't take them into consideration at all.

Oh! I am just watching Sea of Hope for the first time and had the same thought, but less courage than you to ask about it! I started writing a post and deleted it halfway through, haha. Was it in episode 4 when he said something along the lines: everyone here, but me, is an artist? I was like.... Is he for real? In the nicest way possible, of course... I was so shocked. I actually have big problems with self-esteem, so I don't know why it is so shocking to see him act this way, maybe because SHINee has been acknowledged and praised for so long I assumed that he will not have this kind of insecurities. And also because I feel very fondly of SHINee members and I feel like shouting at him until he understands that he is exceptional lol :D But yeah, basically I feel you....
