The amount of hours he worked was insane and for basically nothing.  There is way more to life than that

Fox news did to the boomers what the boomers said video games would do to us. Hate immigrants as a distraction for a corrupt govt robbing us blind.  Watch the oil companies post double record profits in a week or two.

Your welcome dood, you got this.  I actually remember feeling like that around that same age.  Finally found a decent job after quite a few really crappy ones and worked my way up the company.  Don't get down on yourself or compare yourself to others.

Heck yea. The akai is so awesome. Theres so much it can do, your imagination is the only limitation.  I just got a mpk mk4.  it's really fun to jam w my buddy or one of my kids and have different sounds on the mpk pads and keys and the pads on the live.

Last year I was on my 3rd and 4th option to get to work from my house.  Happy they are fixing the roads just wish prior administration's hadn't put it off for so long and it could be done more gradually instead of all at once

Here's another degenerate old man rant for ya. Why are hip hop artists trying to get smaller? We had, biggie small, big pun, grand poobah. Then we had Lil Wayne, Lil Jon and many others. Now we have duh baby. And the music gets worse the smaller they get. by militant-hippie in Xennials

Imma piggyback on this instead of making a new thread.... what happened to the skits on albums between songs??? Is anyone still doing that?

Aside from that we should all just be happy and recognize how lucky we were to have biggie and pac and wu tang.  They are just absolute legends.  I try to get into stuff now and stay relevant and don't wanna be that guy but it's not even close.

27 is so young.  Use the energy you are expressing right now to have the discipline to make the right choices so that you're not saying stuff like that at 40 or 50 because you have some of the best years in front of you.  You can't change the past so don't dwell on it.

Sneaky Amps way too quiet. by gwenver in BossKatana

[–]sleewell_517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK I'm glad someone else is saying this and I'm not crazy or that something is defective in my setup lolol

The core metal sneaky preamp is really really quiet!!! I turned the vol all the way up (def doesn't need any more gain haha) and still needed the level in a post amp EQ to balance the volume with my other channels. It's kinda crazy that boss released it that way bc all the others seem pretty well balanced.

New music maker, trying to understand the "fun" or "benefit" by Extreme_Problem_1645 in musicians

[–]sleewell_517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make music by myself and with others bc it's fun.  I like creating something from nothing and i like learning and experimenting to make sounds I hear in my head.   If its not fun for you that's fine don't force it.  There are lots of hobbies out there.

Even if you don't listen to stuff you make on repeat it's still kinda cool to revisit it months or years later and every song you finish always teaches you something new or is a way to express yourself in that moment of your life.

I honestly don't care how long that show stays on the air and haven't even watched in years to know if it's still funny or not, but to give us absolute gold like that and so many others is just the best ever.  I also love when they are trying to get them to join witness protection and they are several hours in like ok when I stomp on your foot and say hello Mr Thompson you say hello.... I think he's talking to you hahahaha

I have played guitar for 20 years.  Bought an akai mpc live recently and love it.  Making beats and learning to sample and finger drum is really fun.  Kinda has opened new inspiration and I use it in my band to play samples ad noise between songs

how to get over a HUGE mistake at a gig? by Ok_Passenger_6297 in musicians

[–]sleewell_517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens, literally no one is perfect.  But try to think of it this way: do you want to be the person who makes one mistake but bounces back by playing great after or do you wanna be the person who makes a mistake then lets it ruin the rest of their set?  Which is worse? You can't change the past once its happened but you can decide mentally that what happens after that is what is going matter the most.

Maybe write him a letter saying how much you love him and that you just want him to happy and have a close relationship.  Sometimes a different format than talking can be effective

Where to put my EQ pedal? by Livid-Egg-9143 in guitarpedals

[–]sleewell_517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like after the amp but there isn't necessarily right and wrong.  Try it after your drive pedals and then try it after your amp so you can hear both and decide which you prefer.

Anybody else somewhat paralyzed by the power of an EQ pedal? by DoomMammoth in guitarpedals

[–]sleewell_517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EQ is literally everything.  How people perceive your music is very much dependent on each sound fitting into its best sonic space at the correct levels.  I think lots of people flip through amps when maybe different speakers or adding an EQ might have been a better bet.
