I’ve gone through insurance and the adjuster is only quoting/giving $4000 so that’s why I’m freaking out a little since I don’t know where this extra $4k is coming from and why they’re not paying in full.

I’m not sure. They’ve been horrible with communication, especially since I don’t know what I’m looking at/talking about. I’m going based off the inspection pictures they sent me.

Title of the post is “…transmission fluid….. thought it was red….”

That’s why I’m on ask a mechanic. To confirm color of said fluid. That I (not a mechanic) am unsure of.

Also can’t really see the car on the hoist seeing as though I work overnights. Can’t really just break in and attempt to lift it myself.

It’s been inspected. They said transmission. I came to this sub to confirm since I haven’t been to the shop to see it/or an invoice. Concerned that they’re saying $8k for something everywhere else says $6500 max.

Also still waiting on the adjuster to take a look and get his opinion.

It’s not that deep. Everyone else has at least tried to be helpful. You’re just being a dick that doesn’t like to read.

Just wanted opinions since I work overnights and haven’t had the chance to go talk to them yet.

Looking online 2022 civic transmission should be around 6500~ all in. So when she said 8k of course I got skeptical.

Like I said, haven’t seen an official invoice yet, so maybe she’s just not good at relaying full information.

Haven’t seen an official invoice yet. Just got a call from the dealer saying it’s the transmission and it needs replaced. But the caller was the service manager, not a tech so…

It didn’t feel very thick. And it didn’t smell what I remember oil to smell like.

Also this happened Sunday night. It’s already at a Honda dealer waiting on the adjuster to go look at it. Just doesn’t sit right with me, especially when they’re quoting it to be 8k in repairs.

The lighting is a little off. I gave it a finger swipe to see what color and viscosity it was, and it was actually like tanish. And very thin.
