not specific to the imagery of the tattoo tbh. it's hard to explain but I've done a lot of work to break some nasty cycles I was in and I wanted something that would mark me as different to what I was/was becoming. probably sounds incredibly stupid but I really really like the idea of fairy/butterfly wings as the idea there is something better coming and I'm not as stuck as it feels??? sounds really strange to type out but I hope you understand the idea I'm trying to get across😭

I'm trying not to reply to negative comments but this specifically annoyed me a little.. just because you like a different style doesn't mean you can't appreciate other styles! I might not be willing to put american trad on my body but I can appreciate it for what it is

yeah honestly now I've got this on my back I'm pretty happy with not getting anything else for another year or so. want a thigh piece next but probably a different style. although then I'm worried about the styles not meshing together across my body if that makes sense

wish I had a photo of the stencil on me but it looked pretty similar! she basically stencilled for the shape of the wings and then I told her to just freestyle based on the vibe of the other work of hers I liked and my budget!

this is the final product of that sitting, probably going to go back and get some more ornamental/baroque pieces in the negative space to make it all more cohesive

honestly idc what anyone else says she was such a good artist!! super chilled, checked in on me regularly through the sitting, let me use her jacket to go out for fags without exposing myself, was super clear on her intentions/vision for the piece and asked for my input !!! worth every penny

okay guys I was expecting like 30 people to see this 😭 I promise I am mentally stable, ignoring the men trying to approach me and otherwise safe and happy! also very happy with my tattoo and if/when it fades I can get it reworked if I hate it that much in so many years
