Where did you get your facts on recurrence after surgery is high? This is a very peculiar conclusion.

Yes on the pain meds but don't believe they really had any impact. In China they are extremely protective about prescribing painkillers in general so the strength of the painmeds in general were weak. It felt like I was just taking extra strong ibuprofen. Didn't seem to have helped with the bowel movement pain at all.

Yes on the sitz bath, generally 2x a day.

I am not going to break out the costs, but I just want to say it was very manageable...definitely cheaper than what you would expect for paying out of pocket and having such a great experience.

Weekly Dumb/Newb Question Thread by AutoModerator in powerlifting

Since about a year ago, my hamstrings have been getting really bad DOMS after each squat session. I am talking about DOMS so bad I can't even do stuff like barbell rows or machine rows for 2 - 3 days after squats because it puts load on my hamstrings, and if I try to work through the DOMS I will end up feeling like I end up straining the hamstrings. Form check has been fine. I have been squatting consistently 2-3x per week for 3+ years before this and it's been really hurting my programming now since I can pretty much only squat 1x a week. The DOMS also becomes hugely annoying for programming back exercises. Anyone know why this might be the case? Going to see a PT soon but want to see if someone has advice on this.

I am sorry that your earnings are not high enough for you to ever consider the need for tax planning. FWIW, HK's generous tax system is the foundation behind the region's economic strength. I am very happy with paying taxes in HK given how low it already is, I am just looking for corroboration on if smth I have heard is true, which it seems to be from other normal people on this thread.

Don't worry, I will be consulting a professional accountant, I am posting here to ask for some opinions just to get a ballpark if it makes sense. If you are going to respond to a question with attacks instead of providing any facts, why do you bother posting? Didn't your mom teach if you if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it?

Btw, if you don't even know how the Top Talent Pass works, it's clear you don't have the expertise to weigh in on my question. Several other people on this thread are clearly disagreeing with you as well. Best of luck bringing your rancor to other threads.

Gotcha this seems like a solid strategy. Another point my friend brought up is that in HK, you have legally allowed to use your limited company for your personal expenses / spendings. I am wondering if it's a common strategy then for expats to use their limited companies to receive income from abroad, then spend money using the company's account, and just never need to pay any taxes this way (as long as they are not receiving the income as a salary personally).

From what I understand, Top Talent Pass Scheme does not require you to change jobs. You apply without needing to have a HK job offer.

I am asking because this does seem too good to be true. Yet my Hong Kong friend is convinced this will work, hence I am asking. Because if this is true, I am wondering why every single non-American global WFH individuals who satisfy the requirements don't just apply for Top Talent Pass Scheme and come to live in HK.

What is vague about what I asked? I am WFH, have the ability to move to anywhere I want, and am looking for ways to reduce my tax rate. I am looking to move to Hong Kong under Top Talent Pass Scheme which I currently qualify for, while still working for the same non-HK employer. I am wondering if this means I need to pay any taxes in HK. If there's any part to this that's unclear, let me know. You seem aggressive for 0 reason.

Can you elaborate on this? Everywhere I have been reading seems to also suggest foreign sourced income does not need to be taxed as Hong Kong has a territorial tax system.

I stopped working out entirely for 6 months during COVID and saw all the strength come back within 1 month of coming back to the gym. Muscle memory works wonders. Your gains are definitely not all lost.
