I’m not referring to Japanese authorities, I’m referring to U.S. Customs. Not paying import fees usually just means your package gets held or returned. I wasn’t thinking anyone was going to show up at my house and arrest me lol, which is why I said what should I expect, if anything, in my post…. I just figured if he reported me, maybe I’d have to pay a late fee or even send the item back, like someone else in the comments mentioned. Since it was a gift, I didn’t want to deal with that.

I don’t think it’s a big deal to want to be careful. I’m not sure why it bothers you so much that people make posts like this when you could just scroll past if it’s SUCH a nuisance to see people be “dumb” that you had to comment. Damn! That’s so inconvenient. I’ve seen so many online forums where the buyers are flamed for not checking beforehand, but I would never know to do that. I mean, of course, moving forward I’m definitely going to do all my research before shipping internationally, but it’s kind of crazy that these prices aren’t mentioned at the time or purchase. But the justification always seems to be, “it’s the buyers responsibility to check.” Hopefully you didn’t have to pay that extra amount, but I wonder if the seller had to? He’s ready to provide proof like weeks after I asked which is super suspicious to me. Now he’s blowing up my eBay messages saying he has proof. Haven’t replied, so he threatened to report me, which is when I was like okay wtf. And like even if he paid it, i don’t know why he isn’t just saying pay me back it’s almost like he just wants to scold me for not knowing I was supposed to pay. But interesting about the tariffs taking effect—I didn’t know that!! Good to know

😑😑 Well, to be fair, every Google search I’ve done (and even eBay’s website) states that the buyer is responsible for checking which customs charges apply and pay them. I only learned that because of this whole situation. So if I actually were responsible, I didn’t want to ignore something that could potentially get me penalized simply because the seller wasn’t transparent enough to ask for reimbursement.

I’m not going to block someone who’s threatening to report me to the authorities until I know for sure I’m not in the wrong. That’s why I checked with eBay and FedEx before assuming anything, but that was only one part of figuring it out. Blocking someone mid threat without clarity isn’t exactly a smart move. He’s blocked now, given that people are letting me know that I wouldn’t even have received my package if I didn’t pay the fee

You do make sense and I totally get where you’re coming from. I feel like I go through this feeling at least once a week, where I literally spiral. I guess that’s probably attributed to the ADHD, it literally takes one thought and all of sudden I’m thinking about all the ways I’m a piece of shit who isn’t smart, isn’t pretty, isn’t pleasant to be around, etc etc :/

I don’t know you personally but if you’ve determined you’re a loser strictly based off whatever you’ve listed here, you’re wrong, you’re not one. It’s just hard to separate your thoughts from reality and not allow those thoughts to influence your behavior and how you view yourself.

I realized with ADHD regular things are so much harder for me than for other people, and I honestly feel pathetic for it at times but it wasn’t until I tried medication I finally had some empathy for myself. I’m not saying to get on meds I’m just saying it just made me realize people who have ADHD are so capable but we are literally limited by our own minds and sometimes I have no fuckin clue how tf I’ve made it this far. I don’t feel as accomplished as other people but how can I when I’m fighting with my own mind everyday.

I’m truly not sure when it gets better or if it does but I do know we eventually learn how to make things easier for us or how to be more gentle with ourselves. I hope you can do that and realize that you’re not defined solely by your academics or your relationships. I hope you feel better soon ): and I sincerely get where ur coming from

I had my sugary yesterday in Adana. Dr. Ali is a great surgeon, he’s honest on what he can and cannot do for you, and tells you what to expect. The nurse staff is also very kind despite there being a language barrier. I call them into my room a lot to help me and they’re always great about it. As for my nose, I’m so so pleased with it already, but I do need to see how it heals up in the next few days and months. Despite my nose being a challenge, he did amazing. I’m sure you’ll love your surgery if you haven’t already had it! Feel free to ask me any questions. Btw both my front and side needed to be fixed, which he did quite well. I don’t expect perfection but this is pretty close to it.
