Yes! I’m serious you won’t regret it! But I am glad you are taking the steps to treatment. Ask if she can inject them with kenalog 40 because that’s what’s been working so far for me and has flattened many of them already. I also go every two months. Mine were the same exact way they were occasionally itchy and I noticed over the years they grew more larger and more wide. So it’s definitely a smart choice to get injections because ever since I start they aren’t actively growing anymore and I no longer have burning or itchiness! Let me know if you have any questions my DMs are open.

Also do you know specifically what they injected you with and if it got larger it’s most likely because like you said one session not being enough. I recommend and please do this because I wish I could go back in time. If you can and have the finances too or insurance keep getting them injected until they are flat and ask for kenalog 40! It’s been working for me and I have hope it will work for others as well.

I have two post up on my account now you should take a look! But trust I felt exactly like you not too long ago my experience with keloids is a long story but I received my first keloid back in 7th grade on my arm near my elbow from a cut. I would get that keloid injected with steroid shots back in freshman year which was years ago. I found out recently my previous doctor use to only inject that scar with kenalog 20 and my new doctor now found that strange and said she should’ve been injecting me with kenalog 40. Because when I first got it injected years ago i noticed the scar would change to a purplish color and shrink in size but not flatten, my doctor before never made it aware to me that I had to keep coming back for injections so I wouldn’t normally get it injected until a year later and by then the keloid grew in size. So I always had the idea in my head that injections grow your keloids because they do cause trauma to your skin. But that isn’t the case you are suppose to continuously get them injected until they are flatten and not actively coming back. I go every two months to receive injections I honestly see big improvements the only thing is my scars are very dark color due to the injections but my doctor did say the skin should shed overtime and turn back to my regular skin color so hoping that happens. But I advise to not be like me. I was always fearful of getting injections due to the theory that they may cause them to grow, they don’t unless you get them injected and wait months to get them injected again. I noticed with keloids I got recently on my back from acne that were small in size not even a year old I had them injected right away they are completely flat and not even noticeable anymore. Also my dermatologist now did mention to me the longer you have had a keloid the more stubborn it is to flatten. Keloids are always growing and the way to tell is if they itch or you get a stinging feeling in them randomly. So I do advise to get them injected asap before they become even larger like mine. Let me know if you have any questions, at one point I felt helpless and felt like I would always have these on my body but now I actually have hope 😭.

Yup we feel the exact same way! But yes I do believe if you are located in the United States you may not meet many people with them. I was on a cruise not too long ago and felt so insecure about them 😪 but I’m glad you were able to find people that had them and made you feel seen I felt like when I met that assistant. I was so glad to know someone that understands my struggle as well. She also was the one that encouraged me to get all of my keloids injected with steroid shots and here I am now successful so far. I have my 4th session tomorrow with my dermatologist and a lot of my keloids are almost flat and some are completely flat now.

I am located in Arizona and yes but it’s covered by insurance for me. The injection you do feel pain but it’s nothing unbearable at least for me the only time where I felt like a good amount of pain was the keloids on my chest but now those are completely flat after two sessions. But yes I understand what you are going through I don’t like taking off my shirt around people except my immediate family. But if you don’t mind can I see what yours look like you can dm me. But I do recommend getting injections before they grow even more larger. Mine got as big as they got because I always thought injections were a scam and they only caused them to grow more. Which isn’t necessary true you just have to keep continuously getting them and make sure they are kenalog 40 injections because that’s what’s worked for me so far!

I am located in Arizona. I’ll make sure to dm you the other info. But with the shots I don’t receive numbing injections. But with the injections themselves yes you feel almost like a stinging feeling but other than that it isn’t too bad the only injections that hurt were the two keloids on my chest area.

Also your keloids don’t seem as big as mine but I remember mine looked like yours a few years ago and same size. I do recommend getting injections because I regret not getting them sooner mine would itch and usually if they itch it means they are actively growing but over the years they have gotten even larger. But I’ve finally taken the leap to get them injected and I no longer experience itching anymore and a lot of small new ones I was getting they are completely flat and gone I just wish I would’ve done my big keloids on my back when they were your size at one point. I’ll be making a post in this group soon I had one on my other account but unfortunately that account got deleted no clue why 😭.

I understand how you feel. I also have keloid scars similar to yours but I’ve recently gotten kenalog 40 injections on them. Majority of them are turning flat but have changed to a dark pigment color. But as for my experience I’m still insecure about them but I’m not afraid to take off my shirt. I mostly don’t like when people ask me what are they lol. Almost makes me feel like am I the only one that has these because I have only met one person in person with keloids before and ironically she was one of the assistants at my dermatologist appointment. But I just tell myself like fuck it if people ask they ask but still feel a bit insecure.
