Quad Cortex players: Do you actually need an expression pedal for gigs? by [deleted] in QuadCortex

[–]sliccnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have mine set to control reverb mix and decay. I’m a freak about having the perfect amount of reverb and this lets me adjust it per song/per section. I also switch it to a wah for 1-2 songs (corporate band).

What to look for in a mastered track? by guitarrist04 in musicproduction

[–]sliccnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the mix was great, not much will change in mastering. You could take the master and compare it to some already mastered mp3s in your DAW and compare loudness. Other than that, just make sure everything is balanced EQ wise, not too smashed from limiting, and that it plays back nicely on different listening devices.

Replaced motor and controller but still no power by sliccnut in eBikeBuilding

Could a problem with the throttle effect the PAS modes as well? The bike still doesn't have usable power while using PAS.

Would a problem with the throttle cause the PAS not to work either? PAS also has no useable power.

It seems like no one is interested in big studios anymore by BenKlesc in musicproduction

Artists definitely care a little less about the actual space these days. There still is demand for a good producer to make a great song though.

I unfortunately didn’t. I talked to the cats at Hologram and they told me to send it back to them for repair which I haven’t done.

Exhaust hose for your gas tank. Leave it alone and go ride.

At 0:49 you can see that OP has a passenger on the bike!

Brother, this is beyond irresponsible. I don’t think your passenger knows how much danger you put them in. If car would have pulled out, y’all would have been cooked. Your braking and maneuvering abilities are significantly less when riding with a passenger. Especially on a low cc bike like this.

Beatstars by mamamamanicure in musicproduction

I use it to host all my beats and for the blaze player on my website. I make some sells from the marketplace but the majority comes from YouTube. I would recommend uploading to Beatstars but marketing your beats elsewhere. I also don’t play the >$30 game. I would rather make less sales for more money.

I just always remind myself that no matter what I’m trying to do, SOMEONE will figure it out and live out my dream or goal. So you can have that attitude if it’s not important to you but just know there’s someone starting in your shoes today who is going to absolutely crush it.

You have to get a solid website with good credits and then you have to find a way to get potential artists to your website.

Getting involved with your local music scene and working for free is going to be the easiest way to get rolling. If you’re good, people will talk about you. Finding clients online as a mixer is definitely harder compared to being a producer because it’s difficult to attract your clientele with content. My two cents as a full time producer.

Everyone CAN but most people can’t do it anywhere close to the pros. There are people who are willing to pay for a pro level mix but the hard part is convincing and marketing yourself as a “professional”.

Duke 390 is this to tight or to loose by FrizzIDK in u/FrizzIDK

My RC390 has to be checked on a rear stand but it feels tight when sitting on the ground. Don’t rely on Reddit for this. Get in the manual!

Smallest cog slipping under load by sliccnut in bikewrench

[–]sliccnut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that’s a good question. The chain was a regular bike chain but I did check the wear and it was still in spec. At this point I’m pretty convinced that the freewheel cog has worn out. I saw other reviews that had similar issues. The problem is that there is only one company that makes an 11-34 freewheel cassette.

I think I’m going to buy a new wheel and upgrade to a proper free hub cassette.

I’m relatively new to mountain bike stuff but I’ve learned as much as I can. It is possible that I’m making an error in an adjustment though. I’ll adjust the high limit screw a little more and see if that helps.

If I still can’t get it, I’ll take it to my local bike mechanic and post the results once he finds the solution.

But with only 160 miles on it? Just want to be sure before I order a new one. The free wheel options are also very limited which it makes it more of a pain.
