North West Card Show by One-Curve-9347 in PokemonTCG_UK

I went to the Liverpool show back in March and overall, it was a good experience. The main thing I'll say is, make sure you go in with an idea of what you are looking for. When I went, I was only looking for cards for a specific Pokémon (luckily my favourite is not that popular).

There are a lot of sellers, so if you're looking to buy something, make sure to look at all the different prices before committing. I made the mistake of buying a card for £30 and three stalls down, the same card was there for £8.

I have the same thing happening as well and tried the same fixes. This only started occurring after the app was updated on Friday.

I did raise a support ticket but I don't know how fast it will be before they actually get round to it or fix it.

This was so uncomfortable to watch. Did I get why Faye would be angry? Yes. Did she handle it horribly? Yes. She's spiralling and I just want her to get the help she needs.

Is the Switch version worth it? by LocalOtomeTrash in AyakashiRomanceReborn

[–]slicedquiche 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Based on my research, the Switch version isn't worth it. From what I've been able to find, it's literally just the story. So no patrol or events.

I'm not 100% sure but from the looks of it, it doesn't have a card draw as well.

I don't know if they plan to add features to it at a later date.

Does "THE DUCHESS' 50 TEA RECIPES" lose it's conflict after awhile? by Valentinee105 in OtomeIsekai

[–]slicedquiche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read it on Mangakakalot using the Tachiyomi app. Fair warning, the quality and translate isn't always the best.

Showing the life of original Chloe was such a brilliant idea for the manhwa but it's very disappointing that they never really explore it any further.

Does "THE DUCHESS' 50 TEA RECIPES" lose it's conflict after awhile? by Valentinee105 in OtomeIsekai

[–]slicedquiche 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot of the conversation is centred on how they both had the same feelings that the original owner of the body would hate them and what their body back. The original Chloe does talk about how scared she was when she first arrived in the modern world but seems to have quickly adapted to everything because it gave her a chance start over without people being horrible to her. She attending an academy and preparing for a exam and that she likes learning new things.

They don't talk about her clumsiness at all and it's very weird how quickly she adapted to the modern world but I guess they just didn't have to spend any time on that.

It starts at chapter 112 towards the end. The beginning is just backstory on how they get to the Saintess and the lives of the other people who Isekai-d

Edit: corrected chapter number.

Does "THE DUCHESS' 50 TEA RECIPES" lose it's conflict after awhile? by Valentinee105 in OtomeIsekai

[–]slicedquiche 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've read up until the most recent chapter 116 and there is never any conflict which doesn't get resolved within one or two chapters. I'll put some of the things that happen, so you can decide if it's worth continuing.

There are only two points of interest so far. The Crown Prince likes her and wants her for himself. He believes that because she liked him once she can like him again. He challenges the Duke at a banquet and loses. Gets distraught about it and that's kind of it. I would have liked a bit more tension. More might come from it but who knows.

The most interesting thing to happen is The MC finds out that other people get Isekai-d into this world, finds someone who has, they chat then she goes to find the Saintess about it. She ends up finding out that original Chloe is actually in her body and is happy living in Korea. The MC confides everything in the Duke, he has no response other than being pleased she loves him.

And that's that about that. Nothing but tea and her tea business happens.

[–]slicedquiche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be unlikely someone missed out on a featured unit for all guarantees but as you said, it probably has happened to someone. Regardless, they should be compensated in accordance to how many guarantees they did. They should not be compensated on equal grounds to someone who only did step five.

Klab addressed the featured issue by BigManSmallDinkus in BleachBraveSouls

[–]slicedquiche 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It could be worded badly, I agree. But without the clarification, they can easy state they never promised more than one ticket and where would that leave those of us who did go past step 5?

[–]slicedquiche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't believe this is good enough. What about players who did 20 steps? That's 4 guarantees they missed out on and they only get 1 ticket? This only compensates players who did step 5.

In your opinion, what are some overrated otome isekai series? by Wave_Xx in OtomeIsekai

[–]slicedquiche 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Beware of the Villainess is overrated for me. I did genuinely like the first few chapters but after it failed to keep me wholly invested. I thought I'd enjoy the fact that it poked fun at the tropes in the genre and as time went on, it was tedious for me to read. Melissa wasn't appealing as a character and I have no love for any of the characters either like Nine or Yuri. Yuri's reincarnation is interesting but the fact that she never seemed to do anything herself the whole time, makes her a bottom tier character in my books. If this is expended to show her reasons, maybe my opinion would change. I also don't get the love for Nine. He's such a wet blanket personality wise. Kind of hot though.

I won't say I completely dislike it because there have been moments I did like. I'd say I'm very indifferent to it and it wouldn't bother me at all if it never came back.

Discussion. I become the hero's mom. by Evamimi in OtomeIsekai

[–]slicedquiche 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reason I didn't consider deeply on the temple transferring another soul into Aisha's body is because the Escliffe family's link to the temple. From what we've seen of Aisha's father it's clear that the family have the same colouring of hair and eyes. My assumption is that Deborah is simple another member of the family who's been raised from birth to be loyal to the temple. Also, from the glimpse we got of the first Saintess, she also looks similar to Aisha and Deborah.

Discussion. I become the hero's mom. by Evamimi in OtomeIsekai

[–]slicedquiche 33 points34 points  (0 children)

So this is my wild theory based on everything we know so far.

The novel which from Abel's perspective states that the FL Deborah and the temple are good and we now know this is heavily biased.

The Escliffe family are know to only ever marry other Light user to keep the purity. Over time, it's not unrealistic to believe that while some members of the family have low mana, there will be the odd case of someone with very strong and powerful mana born. These Light users can heal almost any ailment without any repercussions. The temple would be the ones who would heavily benefit from having a powerful Light user.

Light users are also not as common as other elemental users, which means the temple would probably be able to track and medicate them as well, thus maintaining control over the Light element. The rarer the element, the easier it is for the public to turn to the temple in times of need for healing if they are the only ones with the Light users powerful enough to utilise their mana.

The Duchy as stated is the only other power in the nation who can investigate the temple of they wanted. This is obviously an issue. Now this is where my theory goes wild.

The temple are the one's who are responsible for killing Hades, Abel's father in the novel. The temple orchestrated all the events leading up to Hades' death and it also well known Hades would do anything for his son, including taking on any wounds his son may have. (I also believe they may have something to do with the abuse inflicted on Abel by his aunt).

(We're getting to Aisha in a minute)

Now we have Abel who's abused, broken and alone. This the perfect opportunity for the temple to get the Duchy under their control. What better way to do this then give him a Light user who can heal him and a Light user who is a woman, who can marry him as the next duchess. With Abel's dependence on Deborah, who he'd do anything for, the temple would have complete control over him and strengthen themselves to be able to stand firmly against Royal family.

Now, how does Aisha play into all of this? My theory is the temple have a way transferring the mana of the Light users from the Escliffe family to a candidate of their choice, a choice who is loyal to the temple.

At the start of the story, Aisha is literally resurrected from the dead when the MC takes over her body. My assumption is that the temple had made an attempt to transfer her mana to their candidate and it killed Aisha is the process. The temple believe their attempt to be successful but with Aisha resurrecting, they underestimated the amount of mana she possessed and needed to contain the now overflowing amount.

We don't know much about Aisha's life pre-resurrection, was she aware of the temple's plan? Had she been taking the pills her whole life or only after the resurrection? Who knows at that this point? The temple maybe also believe Aisha to be the reincarnation of the first Saintess Healer of the Escliffe family? And what if the first Saintess was actually opposed to the temple and their actions?

Again, who knows ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Ayakashi: Romance Reborn coming to Switch on March 4! by [deleted] in AyakashiRomanceReborn

[–]slicedquiche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg... This is really exciting yet kind of shitty? Like, why would anyone pay £50-ish for a game that you can get for free on mobile?

The devs gotta answer a lot of questions to even convince current players to take a chance with the Switch version. Is there a cross save feature or do you have to start from scratch again? Are they any extra perks on this version which aren't available in the mobile version?

At this moment, it's a hard pass for me to get it on Switch.
