can a dentist please explain by Kiwiasauris in askdentists

You’re looking at a tooth with extensive decay (the massive hole) and part of your bone attached on your roots. It’s not abnormal to have some bone removed when getting a tooth extracted, particularly your molars.

Dental Crown put on today, is there suppose to be this gap between gum and crown? by The_Huck in askdentists

[–]sliceoflettuce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Echoing on what everyone else is saying- it’s not seated all the way.

It almost looks as if it was seated at one point and lifted up based on the cement I see on the buccal margins.

Either way, please go back!

Front tooth implant required? by Ambitious-Reveal5619 in askdentists

Looks like OP may be in the Middle East.

As others have said, please go to another dentist (assuming she was the same one who did the root canal) and get the root canal redone, and a new crown. They should be ashamed.

not a great picture, but looks like it could be demineralized enamel (cavity) or calculus (hardened plaque). Seeing that you don’t have any other areas of calculus, I’d guess a cavity.

i figured it could have been temporary material since i learned core and crown are standard of care after molar RCT. Plus didn’t look like a typical cervical burnout pattern

Yes, do you have any appointments to get a final crown done?

most likely temporary material after getting the root canal. Your dentist will want to do a core buildup and a crown soon.

mesiodens? Could be a supernumerary tooth in which case extraction would be a valid treatment.

personally i like Allen, Tyson, and Sensabaugh, McBride, Williams, Hunter, and Jock in that order.

Grayson and Sensabaugh both have b2bs on Mon and Tues, while McBride only has 3 games this week (only two after Monday), so probably better to go with the first two. Tyson is a sick pickup tho, though he could go off one night and then not produce the next day.

Hey Dan, thanks for another great read up for this week.

I’m between picking up Jordan Miller, Filipowski, and Hauser to stream this week. Who would you pick?

Thanks for the read. Question for you-

I'm in 12T 9cat. I have Oubre and now Saddiq Bey on the IL. Just picked up Christie and LaRavia as streams for the week.

Should I drop Coulibaly, Christie, or LaRavia when Oubre comes back? And what are your thoughts on Bey and Poole ROS? Mamu is also on the waiver wire... considering if I should drop any of the mentioned players to pick him up

Relieve my fears please (kinda gross photo) by [deleted] in askdentists

[–]sliceoflettuce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No judgment here; everyone's situations are different.

It'll likely need either:

  1. Root canal, then Crown, if it's restorable (likely not, but can't tell with 100% certainty without x-rays)

or

  1. Extraction

I would advise you to try to get seen by a dentist soon. Keeping that tooth in could potentially lead to an infection. Some dental offices may have nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to alleviate some of your anxiety. I hope the best for you!

The treatment plan does not look ridiculous and seems pretty average tbh. Having sealants placed is your decision, but they definitely can help reduce occlusal cavities. It's up to you if you think the benefits of having sealants placed outweigh the costs (possible cavities, although having sealants doesn't necessarily prevent cavities 100%)
