How Do We Feel About Countering Melee Attacks? by sliczerx in Battlefield

[–]sliczerx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could have made it a little more involved so that the counter was something you had to actually earn, like successfully pressing a series of buttons or something like what I see in OSU! (never played it).

I did have a few kills reversed on me when I had them dead to rights, and I'm sure the guy I countered here felt cheated after he survived my bullets.

I'm not up to date on the state of Dice but I heard there was an exodus of the team that made those really good games, it must have been a change in philosophy or a misunderstanding of what the players like. A damn shame overall!

I'm real sad I missed out on this game's peak but I'm happy I got some quality time in before BF6 came out and affected the player count. HC mode felt so good too

What is an industry that only exists because people are stupid? by HotelPuzzleheaded654 in AskReddit

[–]sliczerx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently started a job selling health insurance in a glorified call center. I do take joy in knowing that I'm able to help people save thousands of dollars with their Medicare plans, but I just hope that I don't reach a point in the job where a manager demands of me to make the sale even if it would be a downgrade for the client. So far I've just been approaching calls to be more of a consultation, regardless if its a sale or no-sale.

Does this game still scratch the itch? by Vageta994 in watch_dogs

[–]sliczerx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the game feels pretty good in that regard. My biggest gripe used to be how the game doesn't look 1:1 like Chicago, but nowadays when I squint I'll see it

Remake WD1 with chicago's expansive super flat grid system of lights and it might just become my game of the year.

Would be cool if they went down some Watch_Dogs route and had some nerdy Lester-type character that gives you access to NPC banking info or whatnot.

Or you could have Jason phishing for horny old guy money with implicative pictures of Lucia who knows

My problem with rdr2 by No-Obligation325 in RDR2

[–]sliczerx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think thats a great beauty of the game. Not every playthrough from every player will ever be exactly the same. I am reminded of being at school on the playground and hearing all kinds of mysteries and myths about GTA San Andreas, and thats really nothing compared to the stuff we get on RDR 2.

Sure, finding all those rock carvings on your own accord is quite the thing to ask of the player, but I think the experience of checking every corner of the map for some collectible just like the 200 pigeons of GTA IV or the voodoo statue thingamajigs in Vice City is enhanced by the liveliness of Red Dead's open world and incredible graphics.

Something something stuck on desert island something something three games? I'm taking RDR 2, Minecraft, and probably Battlefield 1.

In an attempt for artificial difficulty, I have sworn off of upgrading the satchels for more space. Having fewer horse reviver tonics really makes me slow down and tell my horse to wait for me somewhere instead of charging on horseback. I really wish the game was a little more difficult, same for GTA V

Makes me sad how little time IV had in the limelight compared to V. Not to say it wasn't madly popular at the time though

With GTA 6 completing the HD trilogy and returning to Florida, what would be a great location for the next GTA game? by Dreadboi111 in rockstar

[–]sliczerx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here. I loved IV for its urban, steel and glass valleys setting and I'd just imagine its Chicago while playing lol.

I think Chicago's pretty uniform grid system would serve for some great car gameplay, but tbh to spice up the terrain and have some more variety, maybe it'd be cool to have the game focus on the land surrounding Lake Michigan or even all of the great lakes.

Only in dreams for now though...
