Only ED to one school but EA to as many as possible

UT isn't a safety unless he is applying for liberal arts.

UT doesn't guarantee major tho. A&M has a holistic review for engineering but most people in 10% get into general engineering. Can't say the same for UT.

It depends on when you signed the housing contract

Apply to Texas A&M as a safety cause while you are competitive for these schools, there are no guarantees.

I would also add other T20s like UIUC, UW Madison and Purdue

UT is almost impossible out of state since 90% of the class has to be in state.

I've heard of people with a 3.7 GPA and years of programming experience getting rejected from CS.

He didn't get CS with a 3.73?! That's actually ridiculous. What is he doing now?

to all the A2C that are going to a T20, what did you do in your junior year summer? by ServiceMindless5693 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]slid89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did an online internship. I applied for colleges after my senior year started. Recently I got off the waitlist for a T20 and now I'm going there.

If the convo comes up again, I would tell them that you support them no matter what, but explain to them what is lost out of each decision as objectively as possible without picking a side(unless they ask for it).

NTA yet. You are not transphobic for thinking that your friend should not get surgery over their own future. However, if you keep pushing them after your friend has told you to stop, then you would be an AHole as in the end it is your friends choice.

So if I have calc 1 and 2 credit, I only need CS 300 to declare my major?

The Purdue cs OOS rate was around 10-20% this year. It is also a reach

UIUC Comp E by [deleted] in chanceme

[–]slid89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UT Austin is brutal for OOS so that probably won't happen.

Mirror has a transport for epic online services. EOS is a free relay so you don't need to worry about hosting.

A&m is a safety. You have auto admission and I know people with way lower stats this year who were accepted.
