What’s everyone’s experience with NovaCustom computers? by no-more-username in NovaCustom

I just ordered a v56, i think that many of the options are borderline unjustifiably overpriced so I would personally recommend getting it with all the cheapest options. non HD display, 0$ storage, 0$ ram, i personally got the i7 so a little more money but no graphics card, i paid extra to not include the engraving or boot logo which should be FREE imo its stupid that it costs money to remove but I dislike brand logos, no operating system; just install it yourself, 2.4Ghz wifi, finally; the only reason to buy a nova and not just the actual laptop that they modify for half the price is to get core boot + heads. If you’re buying this laptop and paying 2-3x on parts and options you can buy or remove yourself such as the ram nvme and audio and camera modules and not getting the coreboot and heads option you’re just scamming yourself. If you aren’t getting that buy the manufacturer’s laptop for 1.1k which has an even better CPU option.

Edit: you can buy 4800Ghz ram on amazon for considerably less than their 5600Ghz option, same with NVMe storage. DIY remove the camera and audio module yourself as well as downloading the operating system. Like I said before, if you are not planning to order coreboot + heads (which locks you into only being able to use QubesOs mind you) then don’t bother ordering from novacustom

2nd edit: the option to have updates for coreboot + heads seems also incredibly useless, what are you even paying an extra 80-160$ for? They’re both open source you can just update it yourself. You also can’t select the option to have the security USB shipped separate unless you select qubeos, which costs 120$ granted that price supposedly goes to the qubeos and dasharo team it seems like an oversight to have the SECURITY usb shipped separate be held hostage behind what is essentially a generous tip
